Design Director

As a Design Director at Acrylicize, you will be a role model in the studio, contributing to and aiding the execution of projects from inception through to production, working closely with Project Managers and the Global Creative Director. You will help the team to grow by helping us to find the best talent and providing mentorship, guidance, and support for team members. This role provides invaluable experience and grounding to the entire Acrylicize creative process and helps to drive us forward towards our vision for The Art House.

Craft
Spearheading our efforts in creating self-initiated partnerships, identifying key potential partners and driving projects forward
Acting as the guardian of all pitch documents, ensuring that they are creatively cohesive and easily accessible to the team for future reference
Connecting with new potential production partners from individual specialist practitioners to larger production houses
Researching key opportunities to further our reach in the public art space and formulating submissions
Working closely with the Global Creative Director to implement the creative process and formalise its use within the studio
Client
Helping to build out the ‘debate’ offering of the studio as a new revenue stream
Helping on studio pitches with the support of the creative and marketing teams, developing creative ideas in order to win new projects
Exploring data and metrics related to previous projects, identifying key learnings and objectives to ensure upcoming projects are as creatively engaging and profitable as possible
Assisting the PM team as and when required, offering support and guidance across the department
Form strong client relationships that encourage return to future projects in the studio
Helping to build upon the ‘activate’ offering of the studio as a new revenue stream and find a way to include on all projects in some way
Taking on feedback related to previous projects, identifying key learnings and objectives to ensure upcoming projects are as creatively engaging and profitable as possible
Assisting the PM and production teams offering support and guidance across to ensure only budget compliant design ideas are shared with the client
Culture
Formulating initiatives to link the US and UK studios through work, social and creative means, strengthening communication and keeping a cohesive culture between the two
Recruiting the best possible talent across the company by liaising with hiring managers to refine job specs, posting on job boards and using Factorial applicant tracking tool to guide candidates through the recruitment process
Networking to build connections with new artists for The Art House, arranging studio visits and researching talent across the creative community
Arranging frequent Friday lunch sessions in which artists and makers present their crafts to the team in mini Acrylicize CPD’s
Contributing to the WIP studio goals as assigned to your role
You must have...
Masters in Graphic Design, Architecture, Industrial Design, Design Engineering or related degree
3 years’ experience as a Graphic Designer, Architectural Designer, Design Engineer or related occupation
Excellent skills in Adobe Creative Suite
Ability to travel to clients’ sites as required
Attention to detail and a passion for quality in every endeavour
Ability to demonstrate critical thinking
The ability to meet deadlines under pressure
Excellent team player attitude

Paid vacation starting at 20 days per year, plus 11 bank holidays and 4 extra days vacation between Christmas and New Year when the studio is closed
