Driven by our mission in ways that advance the university for years to come, priority areas for this $3B comprehensive campaign include Financial Aid, Academics, and Student Life.Reporting to the Associate Director of Annual Giving, Direct Marketing, the Assistant Director is responsible for the year-round operations and management of Boston College’s student phone fundraising program, with the goal of increasing both discretionary dollars raised and overall alumni giving participation. In addition to contributing to fundraising goals, the Assistant Director is tasked with the development and implementation of stewardship initiatives for annual giving donors. This position manages all aspects of the phone program, including but not limited to strategy, data analysis, and management of up to 30 student employees.Responsibilities include:

Hiring, Training, and Retention:

In collaboration with the Associate Director, the Assistant Director coordinates the ongoing recruiting and hiring operations to maintain a staff of up to 30 students. Creates process and documentation for the implementation of an onboarding and performance evaluation program with student employees. Monitors and coaches students to ensure maximum quality and effectiveness and implements strategies to motivate and reward exemplary employee behavior and results.Program Strategy and Operations:

Assists with the development and implementation of annual fundraising and outreach strategy for the phone program. Works closely with the Associate Director to develop an annual calling calendar, writes scripts, and tracks results. Analyzes performance reports to strategize outreach segments. Coordinates daily schedules, organizes calling pools, and makes on-demand adjustments as needed to ensure a productive and effective calling shift.Vendor & Technology Management:

Manages daily use of calling software and coordinates with vendors and BC’s Advancement Information Systems to maximize product features and updates. Requests data resources for the phone program to maintain updated calling data and facilitates automated and manual operations for calling and fulfillment.Full-Time Equivalent Hiring Range:

$57,800 to $72,250; salary commensurate with relevant experience. Evening work is required to fulfill job responsibilities. Must be able and willing to work independently and unsupervised Monday – Friday evenings. The typical work schedule for this position is 1:00 – 9:00 p.m., five days a week.Requirements This position requires a Bachelor’s degree and one to three years of directly related direct marketing experience or a combination of professional fundraising and other directly related experience with proven organizational and project management skills. Preference for experience in an institution of higher education in a campaign environment or in comparable settings. An aptitude for numbers, data, and analysis is essential, as is an ability to motivate and manage a diverse group of student employees.
