MECHANICAL DESIGNER

Perform engineering duties in planning and designing mechanically functioning equipment. Work with multiple business segments of GED to collaborate during installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of fixturing and related equipment.

Requirements

Design industrial fixturing systems and related equipment.Interact with supplier representatives and customers to identify specifications, design components, and systems as necessary.Evaluate characteristics of equipment or systems.Confer with technical personnel to prepare designs.Confer with multiple segments of GED business to resolve design or operational problems.Recommend technical design or process changes to improve efficiency, quality, or performance.Investigate system, equipment, or product failures.Test performance of mechanical, or integrated systems or equipment.Create models of engineering designs or methods and implement design or process improvements.Create and maintain BOM structures.Analyze design or requirements information for mechanical equipment or systems.Identify new applications for existing technologies.Document technical design details.Research industrial processes or operations.All other duties assigned.Experience:

2-3 years' relevant experience preferred.CREO Experience preferred.Education -

M.E.T or relevant experience preferred.Additional Skills -

Engineering and Technology - Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services.Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra and geometry, and their applications.Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in production of precision technical plans, drawings, and models.Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.Production and Processing - Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
