Mechanical Designer

We are looking to hire a driven and talented mechanical designer. In this role, you will be required to communicate with customers to determine their design requirements, plan and execute the design of mechanical devices, create detailed technical drawings, and work closely with project managers and the manufacturing team to ensure that design specifications are met.To be a successful mechanical designer, you should be mathematically and mechanically minded and have strong analytical and critical thinking abilities. A top-notch mechanical designer should possess detailed knowledge of engineering and design principles, ASME GD&T principles, and be able to find creative solutions to technical problems.Mechanical Designer Responsibilities:Communicating with customers and project managers to determine design requirementsVisit customers when requested by sales and project managers for quotation line-upsCreate concept approach for review by project manager for estimatingCreating CAD models and drawings using SolidworksWorking closely with members of project management, sales, and operations to ensure timely delivery of designed devicesManaging personal and project timelinesBeing knowledgeable of ASME GD&T principlesBeing knowledgeable of the latest advancements in technology, design trends and best practicesMechanical Designer Requirements:A minimum of 5 years of experience in a design roleProficiency with engineering design software packages, preferably SolidworksSound knowledge of ASME GD&T principles and design best practicesExperience working with ERP packages is a plusExperience with CAM software such as Mastercam is a plusStrong analytical and critical thinking skillsExceptional time management and organizational skillsExcellent verbal and written communication abilitiesAttention to detail and problem-solving skills
