Position Summary:The Senior Marketing Manager will be responsible for marketing of Chaifetz Arena and its events. This creative and strategic role involves developing and executing marketing plans, managing advertising budgets, and fostering community engagement to enhance the fan experience. This position will collaborate with promoters, media partners, and internal teams to amplify the brand and ensure successful event campaigns. Additionally, they will analyze key data points to optimize marketing efforts and support the strategic growth of the venue. This position requires strong leadership, relationship management, communication skills, organization, attention to detail, and an entrepreneurial spirit.

This role will pay a yearly salary of $58,000 to $65,000.

This position will remain open until Dec 1, 2024.About the Venue:This position is based at Chaifetz Arena in St. Louis, MO. Chaifetz Arena is on the campus of Saint Louis University and is home to the Billikens Men’s and Women’s Basketball teams. The arena has a capacity of 10,500 for basketball and includes 16 suites, Lorenzini’s and the 1818 Lounge. Responsibilities:

Campaign Planning & Execution:

Develop and implement tailored marketing campaigns for each concert, family show, or community event to maximize attendance and ticket sales.

Handle all aspects of media planning, negotiating, and buying, as well as promotion execution, publicity, database marketing, digital marketing.

Marketing Strategy Development:

Identify, develop, and assess marketing strategies aligned with establishing objectives and marketing characteristics, focusing on expanding digital channels and enhancing customer engagement.

Enhance existing promotional initiatives and create new marketing programs to maximize ROI, including leveraging third-party partnerships and exploring new media avenues.

Premium & Group Sales:

Develop and implement sales strategies that target corporate clients, large organizations, and high-net-worth individuals to secure bookings for suites, VIP seating and group events.

Ensure that premium seating packages and group offerings are competitively priced and effectively marketed.

Monitor sales performance and provide guidance to optimize sales processes and customer engagement.

Goal Setting & Budget Management:

Participate in the development and implementation of annual marketing goals and objectives.

Manage the marketing department’s budget, ensuring resources are allocated effectively.

Relationship Management:

Build and maintain strong relationships with national and local promoters, as well as media partners, to support event marketing efforts.

Event Marketing Coordination:

Oversee and communicate all marketing initiatives related to events, including distributing marketing materials (e.g., admats, digital assets), managing PR and media requirements, and coordinating ticket promotions.

Event Representation:

Manage responsibilities such as media escorting, and sponsor or promotional partner implementation.

Proactive Reporting:

Keep the manager and other relevant parties informed of progress, challenges, and potential obstacles in a proactive and timely manner.

Customer Experience and Measurement:

Interpret and measure the venue customer experience.

Press:

Serve as press contact, write, and distribute all press releases.

Annual Report:

Responsible for the creation of the Annual report and annual Marketing and Communications plans.

Creative:

Create collateral materials from concept to completion, including print and digital ads and promotional pieces.

Utilize Adobe Photoshop/InDesign and Canva to create and manipulate digital assets for web, social media, and venue LED displays.

Social Media & Digital Marketing:

Create and execute social media and email campaigns to engage customers, vendors, sponsors, and community, driving data collection and awareness.

Website:

Update content on website and direct web development company on site features, design and goals focusing on UX.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in marketing, public relations, business administration, or another related field.

4-6+ years of increasingly responsible experience in marketing, preferably with an arena, sports team, stadium, convention center, performing arts facility or other multi-purpose public assembly facility.

Demonstrated proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, and Ticketmaster.

Knowledge of website maintenance.

Knowledge of marketing, advertising/sponsorship programs, and public relations.

Excellent, concise verbal and written communication skills in the English language, both orally and in writing.

Must be able to project a professional manner and appearance, and communicate effectively with clients, senior management, staff, and the general public.

Highly organized, resourceful, quick learner and able to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

Independent decision-making skills; ability and knowledge to apply judgement in resolving problems of moderate scope and complexity.

A results-driven leader who thinks in terms of ROI with increasing per caps and generating profitability.

Flexible skill set that can be applied across a variety of relationships/situations with a track record of success.

Familiarity with the latest trends, technologies and methodologies in graphic design, web design, production, etc.

Work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, days, evenings, holidays, extended (long) workdays for an extended number of days, as needed.

Ability to travel as required.

Ability to lift/push/pull/carry or otherwise move up to 15 pounds.
