Freelance Designer Women's Bottoms

Our client is looking for a talented designer for Women's Casual Bottoms. Role is five days a week, hybrid schedule in their midtown NYC office. Role for now for at least 7 months to start. This role will support the Women's Bottoms team on all aspects of the product lifecycle from concept to final development with direction from the category's leader.
Responsibilities:Support the senior design team and have the ability to assess the relationship of different categories season to seasonWork on and partner with senior leaders on monthly presentations and be able to confidently field questions from executive leadership teamResearch current market trends seasonally and translate them into the AE design aesthetic and philosophyWork with technical department in all aspects of development and fit proceduresPartner with merchants to ensure customer needs and choice counts are covered each seasonEstablish full working knowledge of raw materials and work with team to source seasonal and new core fabricsPartner with production team to achieve the highest quality product within the cost structure that is neededCollaborate with Concept team to objectively evaluate assortment and give objective feedback of the entire collectionAble to work in a hybrid environment, meaning that some work may be performed remotely but certain essential functions must be performed in-person/in-office Monday-ThursdayRequired Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Fashion or Art (or equivalent experience and education)Experience working in Apparel needed, bottoms experience is a plus5+ years related experienceKeen eye for color, trend, detail and constructionWorking knowledge of Illustrator and PLM is a crucialAbility to act as liaison between many departments; excellent communication and analytic skillsGreat presentation and communication skillsComfortable working in an hybrid environment - working in office as well as remote work from homeIf you meet the required qualifications and are interested in this role, please apply today.
