The Content Specialist will be responsible for strategizing and producing informative, engaging, and clear text for internal and external channels including email, websites, marketing assets, print and digital publications, and stakeholder and resident communications.

Roles and responsibilitiesCopywriting and editing of the specialists’ own work as well as the work of colleagues and vendors for accuracy, grammar, impact and quality.Interpreting service requests to understand project requirements.Providing copy and caption support to Marketing for marketing assets, emails and social media when needed.Strategizing compelling stories that correspond with marketing initiatives and agency strategic goals.Collaborating with Marketing and Multimedia team members to develop and execute innovative methods to promote the agency, engage the public, and elevate the AH brand.Understanding key values, goals and targets of the organization and familiarizing oneself with affordable housing history, the current landscape and projections, key housing stakeholders, and governmental entities.Writing c-suite and board of commissioners talking points for speeches,Elevating internal communications and culture by crafting all-staff emails, ‘monitor movie’ content intranet, video scripts, and other initiatives.Connecting and informing residents and stakeholders to the work of Atlanta Housing by providing written copy for newsletters, emails, testimonial scripts, event invitations, corporate website, press releases, paid media, video/film, and other initiatives.

Knowledge and skill requirements

B.A. in English, Communications, Journalism, or a related field3+ years of communications, marketing, and public engagement experience with a demonstrable body of workMeticulous spelling, grammar, oral and written conventions, and word choice for AP Style technical and creative writingProficiency with Microsoft Word and a working knowledge of creative applications such as Canva and Adobe programsWorking Conditions5+ samples of workPR and media relations experience is a plusAbility to work collaboratively, think innovatively, and be solution orientedCultural competence: awareness and respect for diversity, inclusion, and equity to best engage colleagues, the public, and residents

Work Conditions:

This is a hybrid position. Works in an office environment. May require frequent bending, stooping, reaching and prolonged sitting and/or standing. Frequent local travel which necessitates a valid State of Georgia driver’s license and be fully insurable for the purpose of obtaining clearance on company “Authorized Drivers List.” AH Authorized Driver or Assigned Vehicle.
