This position is ideal for candidates with a background in physics, electrical engineering, or computer science, and experience in patent preparation and prosecution related to advanced technologies. The ideal candidate will have strong academic credentials, industry experience, and excellent writing and communication skills.Job Responsibilities:Prepare and prosecute patent applications for product design, user interface, and various cutting-edge technologies.Conduct thorough patent searches and analyses to assess patentability and infringement risks.Collaborate with clients, inventors, and technical experts to gather information and provide guidance on intellectual property protection strategies.Draft and review patent applications, responses to office actions, and related legal documents.Conduct interviews with USPTO examiners to advocate for patent approval.Provide legal advice and counsel on patent-related issues, including licensing, portfolio management, and litigation support.Stay current with emerging technologies, particularly in software, artificial intelligence, Internet of Things (IoT), networking, and quantum technologies.Assist senior attorneys in complex patent matters and provide mentorship to junior associates as needed.Requirements:2+ years of relevant patent preparation and prosecution experience in a law firm or corporate legal environment.Strong academic record with a degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.Demonstrated experience in one or more of the following technology areas:
Software-related technologiesArtificial intelligence-related technologiesIoT, networking, and related technologiesQuantum technologies
