Want to apply Read all the information about this position below, then hit the apply button.Reporting to the Training and Communication Manager, the Senior Training Specialist will support the day-to-day operations of the Training and Communication team within Service & Quality. This role will support the distribution of workload to other Training & Communications specialists and support staff.
The Senior Training & Communications Specialist will coordinate, develop, evaluate, and deliver educational and training programs and related communications and aid in the development of the department’s procedural, educational, and marketing materials while also supporting in the management of the external facing communication channels and materials.
In addition, this role will help drive change management needs of UPST with regards to both internal and external deployments and messaging. This role will also coordinate the training needs of UPST staff.
Essential Functions:
Supports Training and Communication Manager with Director, Service & Quality with daily operations of the Training & Communications team
Advises campus and other Training & Communication Specialists on difficult training, change management, communications, and staff development needs
Ensures the completeness of UPST website content, job aids (visual, audio and written), and newsletters/bulletins ensuring messaging is aligned with UPST brand
Drives the training and re-training needs (planning, coordination and implementing) of the Business Associates team
Drives resolution of complex change management related issues as assigned by the Director, Service and Quality
Deliver education and training programs on behalf of the UPST.
Develop curricula, course outlines, instructional methods, training aids, manuals, and other materials to deliver training in-person or virtually.
Train internal staff on processes and procedures.
Formulate learning aims, plans, designs, and develops methods for the assessment and evaluation of training effectiveness to meet specific training needs.
Other Functions:
Performs other duties as may be assigned.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, Experience):
Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Marketing, or related field or equivalent experience
5 years of general communications, marketing, or training experience
Ability to utilize Microsoft Office Suite and other communication/marketing platforms
Knowledge of educational development / recording software i.e., Adobe Captivate, Camtasia etc.
Effective communication and people skills
Preferred Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, Experience):
Experience as a public speaker or instructor
Experience making program decisions based on existing policy.
Experience assisting with development of program documentation and presentations
Experience developing training guides
Working Conditions:
Typical office environment.
Must be able to travel occasionally to all UMass campuses and the Boston central office.
Salary commensurate with experience up to $95,000.
