Job Summary:
Under the direct supervision of the Vice President of Business Development, the Business Development Associate will primarily support the Business Development Representatives and the pursuit team, searching and reporting the daily leads, conducting market analysis, assisting with pursuits, initiating contact with prospective clients, and maintaining relationships with our existing clients.

Education
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or equivalent education/work experience in a related field.
Experience
Minimum 2 years professional experience in business development department of an A/E/C firm(s)

Responsibilities:
Facilitate Ballard and TCG’s tradeshow program. Includes facilitating logistics, managing budget, scheduling preshow preparation meetings, conducting preshow client reach outs and scheduling meetings, and after show follow up including working with the trade show team to capture all notes.
Facilitate the administrative needs for the Business Development team such as scheduling meetings, taking meeting notes and facilitate other events in support of the Ballard and TCG business development efforts nationally.
Assist in the preparation of presentations and pitches for prospective clients.
Assist in the development of departmental strategic planning and budgets.
Write and distribute agendas, proposals, and briefing documents for internal and external meetings.
Serve as a backup for daily leads search and market activity to position Ballard for strategic opportunities in the marine construction industry.
Update client and project data in the Microsoft Dynamics Customer Relationship Management database (CRM). Work to become a “super” user.
Conducting market research to identify new business development opportunities. Make recommendations for new markets and sales strategies. Support the creation of campaigns.
Establish and maintain effective relationships with customers via email, phone, and in-person.
Maintain client databases and mail lists.
Monitor and improve business processes through analysis and collaboration to ensure ultimate customer satisfaction.
Inform executive management of conditions, activities, and trends including customer or prospect changes, technical developments, market dynamics, and competitive strategies.
Other relevant duties as required.

Must possess a “Class D” security license with the State of Florida, or be willing to pursue and secure such certification (State of Florida Chapter 493) within 90 days of employment
Have the ability to effectively meet and deal with the public
Within 90 days of employment, possess and maintain a valid Florida driver’s license and acceptable driving record
Ability to pass standard law enforcement background/security check; must be in good physical condition
