Our client, a new OTT audio streaming platform, is looking for a remote temp-to-perm Creative Director with a background in screenwriting or copywriting across entertainment, streaming, or podcasts to lead their marketing and social promo efforts. This role will be instrumental in driving user acquisition and revenue growth for our diverse portfolio of audio shows, spanning multiple genres. The Creative Director will be responsible for shaping and executing the creative strategy for their shows, working closely with a team of promo writers, and ensuring impactful and engaging short and long-form promotional content. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the US entertainment landscape and be passionate about the potential of audio storytelling. You will oversee promo development, including script writing, production elements, and will use data-driven insights to enhance user acquisition and retention strategies. This role will collaborate extensively with production, marketing, and operations teams, ensuring a cohesive and integrated approach to promotional success. You will also manage a large, multidisciplinary team, consisting of writers, sound engineers, and video editors, to bring the creative vision to life.
This is a remote temp-to-perm position that can work any US time zone, with a slight preference to PST-based candidates.
Responsibilities:Develop and execute the creative strategy for marketing and social promos across all audio shows, ensuring alignment with user acquisition and revenue growth goals.Lead a team of promo writers focused on marketing for audio storytelling, providing guidance and mentorship to ensure high-quality, engaging content.Oversee the development of impactful and engaging short and long-form promos, ensuring consistency with the creative vision and brand.Utilize data-driven feedback to refine script writing and promo strategies to optimize user acquisition and retention.Collaborate with production, marketing, and operations teams to create a cohesive and integrated approach to promotional efforts.Provide creative input on promo production, including decisions related to music, voiceover, and video integration.Manage and inspire a large creative and production team, including writers, leads, sound engineers, and video editors, ensuring a collaborative and efficient work environment.
Qualifications:
10+ years of experience with a strong background in screenwriting or copywriting across entertainment, streaming, or podcasts.2+ years of experience managing teams of at least 10+ writers, ideally in a marketing or promotional capacity.Deep understanding of the US entertainment landscape and a passion for audio storytelling.Proven experience in digital and performance marketing, with a focus on customer acquisition and retention metrics.Ability to leverage data insights to optimize creative strategies and enhance promotional effectiveness.Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and develop a creative team.Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, including production, marketing, and operations, to drive cohesive promotional strategies.Excellent communication skills and the ability to present creative concepts and strategies effectively.
