Marathon Social Design Lead Full-time | Hybrid / Bungie-Approved Remote Location

Bungie is seeking a technical and people-focused Social Design Lead to join our Marathon team. This role will be responsible for driving the creative and technical implementation of Social Systems features.As a Systems Design Lead, you will be responsible for designing Marathon’s core Social Systems roadmap that answers product goals and engages players within the extraction community. You will drive design alignment and collaboration across creative disciplines, ensuring a holistic experience for social features in relation to progression, economy, narrative, and core gameplay. You will lead a small team to deliver those systems, unblocking and empowering all members of the team and leading collaboration with partner teams.RESPONSIBILITIESBuild a compelling Social Feature roadmap that details a clear relationship with all areas of designDrive, coordinate, empower, and unblock Systems teamsEnsure the design team's work is achievable by guiding them to appropriately adjust scope based on technical realitiesWork closely with the Leadership Team to set guidelines for implementation of the Marathon IP via the extraction shooter genreSupport the work of cross-discipline teams to understand and execute on what is best for the gameMaintain Marathon IP quality, consistency, along with social design principles while implementing Social feature contentLeading the communication and “why” behind social design decisionsOwnership of features and development of design decisions with partner teamsREQUIRED SKILLSPrevious experience as a Social Systems Designer or Systems Designer on a AAA or large-scale gameExperience designing, documenting, and building social systemsIntuitive understanding of what engages players and promotes social interaction in a genre that makes those things challengingExcitement for collaboration with designers, artists, programmers, audio professionals, quality assurance and producers to achieve a common goal, no matter where they areAbility to creatively align with the team and then take initiative locally and externallySocial intelligence, great interpersonal skills, and empathy for creative teamsAbility to handle ambiguity, including giving and handling feedback despite that ambiguityNICE-TO-HAVE SKILLSExperience designing social features in an extraction genreExperience hiring, training, and managing other Designers
