This position is instrumental in helping grow the overall women’s swim business through strong leadership, business acumen, and creative voice. Responsibilities include presentations to key leaders, building, managing, and inspiring the design team, and collaborating with key cross-functional partners in the business.Responsibilities:Oversees the women’s swim and resort wear design team to build this growth category.Sets the creative vision for the design, development, and sourcing team.Manages the seasonal color palette creation.Oversees the print design team and determines print selection, flow, and colorways.Partners closely with the swim merchant team to set seasonal strategy and identify growth opportunities.Ensures wholesale teams' needs are met for key accounts and special make-ups.Drives team adherence to strict development timelines.Prepares and runs all product presentations to the cross-functional team.Works with sourcing and materials team to innovate in fabric, fit, details, and quality.Partners with Product Development to understand costing and resolve production issues.Plans and monitors design budget in alignment with company goals.Uses customer-centric focus to surprise and delight guests.Manages, mentors, prioritizes, develops, and inspires creativity within the design team.Minimum Requirements:Degree in Fashion Design, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).15+ years in the design field.8+ years management experience.Keen eye and ability to translate global trends into brand-appropriate product.Ability to inspire and lead the team to deliver amazing products.Understanding of organization development.Advanced presentation skills.Expert knowledge of design industry, design process, fabrication processes, and manufacturing.Must communicate the big picture while supporting business details.Must coach and lead teams.Operational understanding of calendar and deadlines for timely production delivery.Tommy Bahama is an equal opportunity employer.
