To work with the VP of swim, designers and cross functional team to ensure the quality of our products is world class.BE THE ISLAND GUIDEResearch seasonal trends, art direction, and new techniques in print, yarn dye patterns, fabric and embellishment.Collaborate with VP of Women’s Swim and design team on art selection and concept development.Create seasonal embellishment concepts and work strategically to develop cost effectively.Propose textile design needs and concepts such as engineered layouts.Manage art development timeline; develop art and embellishment in time for designers to utilize and execute, minimizing costing challenges and communication delays.Work with VP of Women’s Swim to communicate and manage execution of seasonal color palettes.Work directly with the art department providing art direction as aligned with VP of Women’s Swim.Responsible for pitching color in prints for all of Swimwear & Sportswear: creating harmonious print coloration, palette grading, and pattern layout.Maintain consistent art standards and brand handwriting.Partner with Product Development and Sourcing teams to ensure the art is developed to factory/mill limitations and ability.Establish standards and guidelines for the art development and approval process managing overdevelopment & workload.Work closely with Product Development team to clearly communicate development technique and needs, provide costing direction, provide expectations and calendar deliverables.Manage all final art packages and send out.Essentials For Life In ParadiseBachelor's degree in Fashion Design.Generally, 3-5 years of experience.The ability to direct mills’ technicians on the color approval process for both solid and print programs in order to ensure color matching to standard.Must have experience with knits and wovens.Thorough understanding of the design/product development process and how it relates to retail/wholesale selling information and competitors’ product assortments.Highly organized, creative, energetic and passionate with a sense of urgency.Advanced experience with the apparel design process from concept to product.Self-starter and creative thinker with the ability to interpret seasonal concepts.Ability to listen and incorporate ideas into new development.Understanding of Tommy Bahama customers. Ability to creatively develop for this market.Sophisticated taste level.Computer graphics experience with knowledge of Photoshop, Ned Graphics and Illustrator helpful.Ability to follow through on multiple tasks simultaneously.Strong time management skills.Organization skills.
