We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Director reporting to the Sr. Technical Director Engineering.

The candidate collaborates and coordinates work with the other members of the Milwaukee project, but also the Technical & Performance Department, supporting the business needs of Veolia’s Municipal Water Contract Operations Business Unit in the U.S. The person in this position will be required to provide leadership for the development, production and delivery of technical and performance projects. The person will be in direct contact with the client.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities:

Develops objectives for assigned area and ensures alignment with overall company strategies and objectives. Helps define and monitor Engineering policies and procedures for assigned area and synchronizes with project management and operations functions.

Participates in key engineering design reviews. Enforces conformance with defined requirements and ensures that corrective actions are completed as required.

Assesses and evaluates Mechanical & Electrical systems and control systems and strategies for efficiency:

Pumps, blowers, UV, chemical feed systems etc. both optimizations.

System optimization for applicable unit process areas.

Develops, implements and maintains engineering and technical standards, specifications and documentation for assigned area. Stays abreast of industry related standards and invokes these standards into the engineering process. .

Ensures that all engineering deliverables for assigned projects are identified and prioritized in a project execution plan. Measures engineering’s on-time delivery performance for critical deliverables. Helps define, implement and monitor measurements for continuous improvement of engineering performance and product cost reductions.

Offers consultancy,

action planning and optimization implementation strategies as the regional subject matter expert in wastewater unit process control

Ability to develop and design treatment strategies and protocols with follow up to assist in plant implementation.

Supports Sales and Marketing with technical strategy and experience to maintain current accounts and to capture new business.

Work Environment:

Typically spends 50% of time in an operations environment, in Milwaukee, and 50% of time in an office environment. Travels 50% of the time to assigned area.

Requires working in outside and inside environments with noise and all temperatures and climatic conditions and must be able to work under adverse weather conditions for extended periods of time.

Possible Work Hazards: May be exposed to possible operations hazards including dust, fumes, toxic and caustic chemicals, rotating machinery, high pressure, hot or cold work temperatures, slippery surfaces, water and electrical hazards.
