Technical Writer
to join our team in
Virginia Beach, VA.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Write and edit technical documentation for hardware and software projects to include installation, configuration, and how-to documentation.Provide field, data definition, and data flow documentation and format technical publications from pamphlets, technical drawings, and consultations with technical personnel and other available resources.Create code documentation for software.Produce implementation guides and end-user guides for capabilities.Prepare reports, responses, and briefings targeted to a wide range of audiences.Minimum Qualifications:A Bachelor’s degree in a technical field with a minimum of two (2) years of experience in writing standardized material for technical publications and documents with an emphasis on work methods, procedures, installation, operation, and maintenance of hardware and software documents or five (5) additional years of related experience in lieu of a degree.Preferred Qualifications:Experience creating publications from pamphlets, technical drawings, and consultations with technical personnel and other available resources. Experience working with SharePoint and Confluence.Clearance Requirements:Current and active Secret security clearance.Physical Requirements:Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.Often positions self to maintain computers in the lab, including under desks and in the server closet.Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations.May be asked to move Audio/Visual or Computer equipment.For all positions requiring access to technology/software source code that is subject to export control laws, employment with the company is contingent on either verifying U.S.-person status or obtaining any necessary license.
