Summary:

The Proposal and Marketing Director will be responsible for developing and implementing Ahtna Diversified Holdings, LLC's (ADH) proposal, marketing, and communications strategies, with a strong emphasis on managing and overseeing the creation of proposals, marketing content, and graphic design. The position will be responsible for supporting and collaborating with Area of Responsibility (AOR) Directors/Capture Managers to develop a marketing pipeline plan, track and monitor pipeline opportunities, respond to market research, develop pre-positioning plans, make go/no-go decisions, and prepare compliant, responsive, and compelling proposal responses. The position requires leading, facilitating, writing, editing, and designing proposals and marketing material from conception through final execution. The candidate shall have diplomacy with peers and internal clients in handling challenging situations and the ability to exercise discretion with confidential/sensitive issues.

The salary range for this position is $144,232year-$183,174/year.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Team LeadershipLead the proposal development and marketing divisions within the ADH Business Development (BD) department.Manage, mentor, and motivate the BD team, which includes proposal managers/writers, marketing professionals, and proposal/marketing coordinators.Formulate the annual BD budget with the VP of Operations and Business Director.Allocate resources for all ADH's proposals and marketing-related opportunities based on availability and expertise.Set and implement group standards, define processes, and develop policies and procedures for marketing and proposal staff to follow while working independently, with the BD team, or with ADH's internal clients (i.e., VPs/Directors/Capture Managers).Manage multiple diverse deadlines of the BD team to ensure that all deadlines and budget requirements are met.Collaborate with VPs/Directors/Capture Managers to develop strategic marketing and/or proposal development plans for obtaining future business for the ADH business lines.In concert with VPs/Directors, participate in monthly pipeline strategic planning and project pursuits.Work with the BD team and VPs/Directors to ensure proposal and marketing efforts align with company goals.Ensure proposals and marketing collateral are polished, persuasive, and contain appropriate written or infographic components.Manage the continuous improvement of the CRM database; collaborate with CRM consultant. Work within the CRM platform to ensure data is captured and opportunities are accurately tracked in the system.Manage and curate a centralized proposal/marketing library that includes proposal responses, marketing material (graphics, SOQs), master narratives, resumes, and project descriptions.Act as the point of contact for electronic/print production; manage any issues with in-house or vendor-related production.Assist in strategies for ADH and our many Mentor Protégé/JV teaming partners.Proposal Development

Oversee compliance with proposal knowledge management processes.Manage pre-marketing activities, including working with VPs/Directors/Capture Managers to solidify the team and develop proposal strategy/win themes and feature-benefit statements.Manage proposals and work with capture management personnel to respond to RFPs and develop responsive and compliance proposal responses.Facilitate strategy development to define Ahtna's competitive solutions and discriminators. Ensure that proposal messages and themes are integrated into proposals and presentations.Oversee and manage proposals (RFP, RFI) and all deliverables as needed, including developing a compliance matrix, determining schedules, assigning work packages, coordinating content submissions from writers, submitting responses on time, and final editing, formatting, and assembly. Establish and enforce writing assignments and deadlines.Manage the multiple proposal compliance reviews (e.g., pink, red, gold, white glove, and green) for all outgoing competitive proposals. Responsible for overall quality and RFP compliance and responsiveness.Work with capture managers and marketing staff to develop graphic ideas to convey written material better in proposals and marketing materials. Manage the process of developing the graphic and getting it approved for use in proposal responses and marketing materials.Marketing

Support marketing and AORs with identifying and tracking early leads and opportunities. Help set up and track capture management through calendaring, file setup, CRM data entry, auditing, and reporting, including responding to market research and source sought requests, as necessary.Oversee the maintenance and updating of marketing collateral, including brochures, presentations, and proposal content.Oversee the design and execution of conference booths and promotional materials (e.g., booth design, specialized collateral, giveaways, sponsorships).Develop content for internal communications, including employee and shareholder newsletters and reports.Provide graphics support for advertisements, presentations, SOQs, and websites, ensuring high-quality design.Oversee the development, design, and maintenance of brochures and other standard marketing materials for all subsidiaries within the ADH.Manage the update and refresh of subsidiary websites; regularly ensure current and accurate content.Monitor website analytics, track engagement, and respond to online activity as needed.Handle copywriting, proofreading, and revisions for proposal/marketing content with minimal oversight.Manage and prioritize multiple projects and deadlines to ensure timely and on-budget completion.Perform any other duties as assigned by management.Supervision

Proposal and Marketing Staff, 5-8 total

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communication, Journalism, or other applicable discipline.Work experience may substitute education on a 1:1 basis.Ten (10) years of work experience (marketing and communications) with eight (8) or more years of experience working as a Proposal and/or Marketing Manager (or similar position).

Experience should include marketing experience with at least seven (7) or more years of experience with a company with federal contracts.

Five (5) years of progressively higher levels of experience supervising staff, preferably a team of at least three or more.Experience with leading and coordinating diverse teams from various organizational levels from the prime, subcontractor, and consultant businesses.Strong presentation and communication skills, including copywriting and editing.Ability to pass background checks by various Federal Agencies (e.g., DOD, DHS, FAA, etc.) to obtain security access.Must be a US Citizen.Valid driver's license with a clean driving record, able to drive company vehicles.Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree in Business, Marketing, Journalism, or other applicable discipline.CPSM or other job-specific certifications.Working knowledge of and interest in the A/E/C industry, including Ahtna's Federal and/or DoD clients, projects, people, credentials, and competitors.Knowledge of federal government procurement process and FAR regulations.Experience with federal RFP structures and SF330 formats.Federal proposal writing experience.Experience and knowledge working with Alaska Native Corporations.Core Competencies:

Working Environment:

Generally, an indoor office environment with frequent interruptions, often noisy, high-paced atmosphere with tendencies of having an extremely heavy workload. While outdoors may be subject to site conditions, changes in temperature, weather conditions, and noise levels.

Physical Demands (including but not limited to):

Frequent sitting for prolonged periods of time, using hands/fingers requiring dexterity and coordination to handle files and single pieces of paper, reaching with hands and arms for items above and below desk level, talking, hearing, and seeing (up close, at a distance, along the periphery, with depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus); walking from place to place within the office with occasional use of stairs and no elevator available; bending, pushing, pulling, and standing for up to 2 hours; occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds such as small office equipment, files, stacks of paper, reference and other materials.

Work is generally performed in an office setting. The worker must be able to speak and receive phone communications often. The work requires computer usage, including strength, dexterity, coordination, and visual acuity, to use a keyboard, video display terminal, and other office equipment.
