The Senior Designer, Women's Footwear, will report to the Design Director. The ideal candidate needs to be a highly creative problem solver, who's passion, positive outlook, and work ethic collate to clever and elevated design solutions. Their primary role will be to incorporate almost 100 years of footwear design and envision, creating, and developing elevated brand relevant products.

CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES:Working under direction of the Design Director, the Senior Footwear Designer will lead junior designer, design and develop product, concept and technical developmentExecute from initial design, overseeing fit sample, and deliver final product through completion.Partner with Product Line Management and Product Development to create fashion relevant products across multiple categories.Strong work ethic, organizational skills, detail oriented, and solution oriented.Partner with Product Line Management and Product Development to create market relevant products across multiple categoriesDeliver on-time product solutions in conjunction with the product calendar and business needs ensuring that all deadlines, line plans and deliverables are metPartner with Product Merchandising in the creation of line plans, briefs and final product solutions aligned with business goals, consumer needs (style and function), and brand storiesCollaborate and communicate across multiple teams to create strong market relevant product stories across disciplinesPartner with Color/Cad and Materials team to render styles and complete techpacksManage and Mentor junior members of the team to for guidance and design deliverablesProvide and present timely and relevant business, design, consumer, and cultural storytelling in conjunction with specific projects and briefsLead in the development of appropriate sell in tools to effectively communicate concepts and strategiesStudy and research current and future trends; maintain expert knowledge in design trends, production techniques, and new technologiesConduct research onsite and off to bring new ideas to the category and brandBachelor's Degree in Industrial Design or related field7+ years of experience in footwear designEnergetic, inspiring, creative, forward-thinking, and enthusiastic about designSelf-motivated and equally comfortable working within a team - must be a team playerOrganized, structured, asks questions and seeks understanding firstPushes oneself to exceed expectationsExcels at being adaptable, versatile, and able to work under pressure to tight deadlines and multi-taskAbility to work under deadlines, manage multiple priorities, work independently, take initiative, and pay close attention to detailExcellent verbal and written communication skillsMust have an exceptional knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite - Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesignMust be proficient in creating line art and color cads in IllustratorWorking knowledge of Macintosh systems, Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint), Outlook, and PLMMust have traditional hands-on footwear development skills - Proto corrections, materials, techpacks, specsStrong knowledge of fashion and market trends with an understanding of Cole Haan product image and qualityMust be able to travel both domestically and internationallyAbility to work under deadlines, manage multiple priorities, work independently, take initiative, and pay close attention to detailExcellent verbal and written communication skills
Base Salary/Hourly Range:
From $130,000 to $150,000 annually*
Bonus Eligibility:
Yes, eligible for annual target bonus based on company and individual performance
