Overview
GovCIO is looking for a creative and detail-oriented Multimedia Production Specialist to join our team. The Multimedia Production Specialist will be responsible for creating, editing and producing a wide range of multimedia content, including videos, podcasts and animations. This role will directly support the production for a media publication that features interviews with federal leaders, conducted both in person and virtually, across video and podcast formats. The ideal candidate will have a strong customer-service mindset, professional presence and excellent client relationship skills. This role demands a deep understanding of multimedia production, technical proficiency and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. The position involves multiple live recordings with various stakeholders under tight deadlines.
This position is located in Fairfax, VA with a hybrid schedule, full time, and available to candidates within the Continental United States (CONUS). Approximately 15% travel is required.
Responsibilities
Plan, produce and edit multimedia content, including videos, animations, graphics and podcasts, for various platforms (web, social media, conferences, presentations, etc.).
Support the production of a media publication that includes interviews with federal leaders, for both in person and virtual video and podcast formats.
Operate and maintain multimedia equipment, including cameras, lighting, audio equipment and editing software.
Collaborate with the editorial and marketing teams to develop creative concepts and strategies for multimedia projects.
Ensure all multimedia content meets the company's brand standards and quality requirements.
Manage multiple projects simultaneously, adhering to deadlines and project schedules.
Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to continually enhance the quality and efficiency of multimedia production.
Assist with video and podcast consultation meetings
Act as on set producer during shoots, managing live production, including setup, operation and teardown of equipment.
Responsible for multi-platform distribution of content, planning and analytics to drive engagement.
Maintain video archive management and storage
Provide technical support and training to team members as needed.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Multimedia Production, Digital Media, Film, Communications, or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in multimedia production, including video editing, animation, graphic design, and audio production.
Proficiency with multimedia production software, such as Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator), Final Cut Pro and audio editing tools.
Strong technical skills with multimedia equipment, including cameras, lighting and audio recording devices.
Experience supporting video and podcast multimedia projects in a newsroom preferred
Excellent creative and storytelling abilities, with a keen eye for detail and visual aesthetics.
Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Ability to work non-traditional hours, including weekends and evenings when needed
10-20% travel requirement
Knowledge of web design and development is a plus.

Posted Pay Range
