Together, we’re the next BIG thing in data.Job Description ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Manage Yield/Defect organization to execute and deliver world class HDD with lowest defect level.Own & drive yield improvement projects and track daily/weekly/monthly yield/defect trends.Excellent knowledge in root cause analysis.Collaborate with Technology Development team and Process Integration team to understand issues and find solutions to the problems.Problem-solving and project/program management experience with strong self-initiative and self-learning capabilities.Demonstrated interpersonal skills to perform at leadership role including influencing, engaging, and motivating.Proven track record of working across organization through matrix structures to accomplish strategic objectives with conflicting priorities.Be responsible for the overall health of the Yield and Quality KPIs as set by the program manager.Expert of yield analysis Defects control, quality reports to find correlations and form technical hypothesis to test out to solve yield issues.Work with Multiple teams/lead cross functional task force teams to solve urgent issues.Excellent communication skills at both technical and executive levels.Qualifications REQUIRED:BS, MS and/or PhD in Material Science, Mechanical, Chemistry or Physics.Experience in leading a team in an aggressive environment.Working in Engineering field for 15+ years especially in HDD industry.Experience with Quality Management tools such as FMEA and Statistical process control (SPC) but not limited to the mentioned.Excellent communication skills, Quality mindset, with HDD/Semiconductor processing knowledge.Experience in New Product Introductions (NPL) & qualification.In depth experience in Think Film deposition.SKILLS:Analytical skills that can be weaponized in real world scenarios.Able to work in a challenging and demanding environment.Experience in HDD Media sputter tools (Anelva or Lean) is a great added advantage.Additional Information Western Digital is committed to providing equal opportunities to all applicants and employees and will not discriminate against any applicant or employee based on their race, color, ancestry, religion, sex, gender, age, national origin, sexual orientation, medical condition, marital status, physical or mental disability, genetic information, military and veteran status, or other legally protected characteristics.
