Position SummaryThe scope of responsibility is intentionally wide to inspire unconventional thinking in a rapidly evolving consumer marketplace and build standardized capacity for communications content for the purpose of advancing the University’s image and visibility. A successful candidate is a deeply committed colleague (a.k.a. ‘people’ person) who genuinely loves project management and thrives in a fast-moving and nimble, in-person campus office environment. This position is also charged with the cultivation of meaningful relationships both internally and externally to increase communications capability, volume and relevance.
Reports toDirect Report to: Vice President of University Communications & Marketing (UCM).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for execution of University’s communications plans with a primary focus on maintaining and continually improving its image and position in the local community.
Drives, stewards and maintains timely and efficient workflow of projects across all members within the communications unit from initial information gathering to project completion.
Schedules, programs and coordinates stakeholder communications for University including but not limited to its campus community, alumni, supporters and identified constituencies via third party CRM email platform.
Serves as content manager for University website and associated communication platforms as well as point of contact for third party organizations related to the website.
Supports all public relations and media relations efforts including resharing news content for packaging and pitch to media partners.
Serves as liaison between division and University’s partner Marianist organizations.
Serves as the backup for the University’s Public Information Officer.
Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Education and ExperienceMinimum
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or Communications
Five years of experience in a comparable business environment or higher education setting.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Proven collaborator who is thoughtful and team-oriented in philosophy, approach and demonstrated behavior
Thrives in fast-paced team environments employing multiple, concurrent initiatives
Demonstrated experience and success in project management in a business setting with a host of stakeholder groups
Excellent attention to detail
Versed in Google Workspace and comparable office suite products
Ability to clearly articulate (written and verbal) intentions and
Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
Results-oriented with high standards for self and team
Physical RequirementsDuties involve light work in an office and community setting and requires a minimum of physical effort with intermittent sitting, standing, climbing stairs, and walking inclines. Must be able to lift 20 pounds, walk the campus with ease, and have excellent motor skills. Must have finger dexterity. Must be able to communicate information and ideas so that others will understand.
Other Requirements
This is a full time, exempt position. Forty hours per week (M-F) will be the general rule. However, depending on the project cycles and workflow demands of the department, additional hours or workday schedule changes may be occasionally required. Must be willing and able to work occasional nights and weekends and have a varying schedule when required.
Performs such similar, comparable or related duties as may be assigned or required.
Observes all safety and health regulations and works in accordance with safe work procedures and policies of the University. Reports unsafe acts/conditions and injuries in a timely and proper manner.
