You will take ideas from conception through process development to implementation in high volume manufacturing. The role is critical to the success of Micron’s new Emerging Memory part type. Primary responsibilities include process characterization, optimization, design, troubleshooting, process transfer, and future node roadmap planning and execution.You will be responsible for engaging with internal teams including process development, process integration, manufacturing development, equipment development, worldwide TD counterparts as well as external equipment and chemical suppliers to develop and integrate robust equipment and process technologies. You’re encouraged to work independently and with teams to develop new thin films process solutions and optimize them to meet device requirements.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Develop, characterize, and optimize thin film processes to meet future technology requirements.Identify and strategize key thin film challenges for next generation Emerging Memory technologies.Intentionally collaborate with key stakeholders with an eye toward proactive problem identification and solution.Understand the interactions between process and hardware to design robust solutions.Deeply understand film requirements and characterize film properties using all relevant lab techniques.Plan and execute effective, well-designed experiments and write clear concise detailed reports.Clearly and frequently communicate project status to drive aggressive timelines, taking full advantage of all available resources.Evaluate and make insightful inferences from large amounts of various types of data, such as physical and electrical analysis.Be an ambitious teammate and be adaptable to Micron’s changing needs.Apply a high degree of motivation, goal orientation, and possess the ability to focus on solving problems collaboratively with the team and individually.Minimum Qualifications:Excellent understanding of materials engineering and science fundamentals.Knowledge of chemical reaction engineering, thermodynamics, heat and mass transfer, plasma science and their direct application to thin film processes in various deposition and treatment methods.Expertise in thin film processes and tool variables affecting the physical, chemical, and electrical properties of deposited films.Experience in a variety of thin film deposition techniques, particularly ALD, PECVD, PE-ALD and LPCVD.Experience with and understanding of surface analysis techniques like XPS, AFM, XRD, AES, EBSD, SIMS etc.Understanding of Statistical Process Control (SPC) for manufacturable process.Strong work ethic and highly motivated to advance knowledge and skills.Focus on fundamental understanding and the ability to apply in problem solving.Experience and knowledge to provide a strategic direction in highly complex situations and generate creative solutions.Self-starter and work collaboratively in global teams in geographically different areas and drive multi-functional teams to achieve challenging goals.Experience driving vendor hardware and process roadmaps to meet film performance and cost requirements.Effective project leadership skills achieving goals and timelines.Ability to thrive in a constantly evolving environment - adapt to and embrace change.Education/Experience:Minimum MS/PhD or BS + 5 years.Academic Discipline(s):
