ABOUT THE JOB

The Tepa Companies are seeking a Technical Editor/Writer (TEW) to fill a mid-level position responsible for writing content, proofreading, and editing high-quality technical documents, proposals, and reports for the Tepa Companies' Construction Services and Professional Services sectors. The TEW will discuss/interview project personnel and subject matter experts to write content for technical documents, proposals, and Tepa's Data Asset Management (DAM) platform.

The successful TEW candidate will work independently and in collaboration with proposal teams, communications, and project personnel to edit complex technical documents, proposals, and reports within set deadlines. You will ensure the content of all Tepa Companies' proposals, technical documents, and reports are written to speak with one consistent Tepa voice.

Job Functions:

Provide technical editing of proposal documents, marketing/communications materials, and reports for federal, state, municipal, tribal, and private sector clients.

Utilize MS Office and Adobe Creative Suite to edit and manage documents and Tepa's DAM platform.

Work independently and collaboratively with subject matter experts and project managers to refine written text for clarity.

Communicate via various methods to clarify and gather information.

Review/edit grammar and spelling as required in document reports.

Review, research, analyze, update, and edit information on Tepa's DAM platform.

Edit documents and DAM data with attention to detail to maintain continuity of information and document style.

Develop and implement process improvements to help improve document and report quality.

Provide technical editing in a timely, accurate, and efficient manner to meet deadlines.

Apply communication and interviewing skills to gather needed information for document development activities.

Develop and maintain strong working relationships with various stakeholders within the Tepa Companies.

Refine written style to adhere to Tepa guidelines and create clear, persuasive documents.

Develop and maintain document content in Tepa's cloud-based DAM platform.

Translate complex ideas into easily understandable document text.

Maintain a comprehensive library of technical terminology and documentation.

Perform additional duties as assigned.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Four-year degree in communications, marketing, English, journalism, business, or relevant technical editing experience.

Minimum five years of experience creating, developing, and editing proposal documents and reports.

Experience editing complex technical documents for various sectors.

Recent experience writing and editing technical documents in the construction and engineering industries.

Experience working independently and in a collaborative environment.

Experience interviewing and researching resources to create document content.

Experience with the federal business market and procurement process.

Experience managing confidential company information.

Proficient in Office 365 and Adobe Creative Suite.

Ability to articulate complex subject matter clearly.

Demonstrated ability to work in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Detail-oriented with strategic thinking abilities.

Ability to mentor junior staff and coach subject matter experts.
