Overview The American Institutes for Research (AIR) is seeking a dynamic

Communications and Events Associate

to join the AIR Opportunity Fund team. This role is ideal for a creative, innovative individual eager to support strategic outreach efforts by managing logistics, crafting compelling content, and coordinating impactful events.Launched in 2021, the AIR Opportunity Fund is a 5-year, $100 million+ investment aimed at addressing systemic inequities and increasing opportunities for people and communities. Learn more at www.air.org/equity.As a key team member, you will help plan and execute events, from small meetings to large symposiums, ensuring every detail aligns with the Initiative's goals. You'll collaborate with the Senior Program Manager and Communications Director to create engaging content for social media, newsletters, and the AIR website. Your responsibilities also include managing calendars, drafting emails, and researching potential partners to enhance the Initiative's reach.This position is remote within the United States, with significant travel required to build relationships in the communities where AIR works. Responsibilities

The responsibilities for the position include:Support planning and execution of events, managing logistics and timelines.Coordinate on-site logistics and virtual event support, ensuring smooth operations.Collaborate with AIR staff, vendors, and partners to drive impactful outcomes.Research potential partners and sponsorships to enhance engagement.Content Creation and Marketing:Develop content for social media, newsletters, reports, and event materials.Manage the Initiative's content calendar and contribute to the AIR Opportunity Fund newsletter.Draft emails and manage mailing lists for effective outreach.Operations Support:Manage calendars, emails, and logistics for meetings, retreats, and events.Prepare materials for meetings and events, including agendas, notes, and presentations.Significant travel to build relationships in the communities where AIR works.

Qualifications

Education, Knowledge, and Experience:Bachelor's degree and 2 years of relevant experience in communications, event management, or related fields; Master's degree preferred.Familiarity with event planning, content creation, and project management tools.Experience in nonprofit or equity-focused organizations is a plus, but not required.Skills:Expertise in Microsoft Suite (e.g. Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).Expertise with online meeting platforms (e.g. Zoom Meeting, Zoom Webinar) and content management systems (e.g. Google Suite).Understands and values diversity.Strong organizational and communication skills, with a team-oriented mindset.Ability to work cooperatively and independently on detailed assignments.Comfortable working in a dispersed work environment.Significant travel required (up to 50%).Disclosures:Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis. This position offers an anticipated annual salary of $70,000 - $78,000. Salary offers are made based on internal equity within the institution and external equity with competitive markets. Please note this is the annual salary range for candidates that are based in the United States.AIR maintains a drug-free work environment.
