Combining technical understanding and excellent written communication skills, the Technical Writer will take ownership of Luminance’s technical documentation, end user guides, and supporting materials. Your audience will be both customers of Luminance, and internal technical staff. You will be responsible for personally writing high quality documentation, and also coaching other members of the tech team to improve standards and consistency.Responsibilities

Develop and maintain high quality and comprehensive documentation to improve overall end user experience, and to improve efficiency of internal teamsTranslate complex information to language which is concise and meaningful to a userAchieve an intimate understanding of our products, especially product use cases and legal workflows, to create content relevant to end usersConsolidate existing documentation, and discover and make consistent documentation from knowledge which has built up within teamsWork alongside developers and support/operations team members to understand technical details and operational processes, and prioritise the most relevant and impactful areas to invest in documentation enhancementsTrain and coach developers and site reliability engineers to write high quality documentation as part of the software development lifecycleBuild and grow a central ‘hub’ of internal and external documentation, and work with internal system development teams to continuously enhance our user documentation portalCollaborate with the Product team on the production of user guidesCollaborate with sales and product specialists to validate best practices and legal user flows, and with the marketing department to ensure external documentation is consistent in branding and styleDesired Skills

Graduated with a minimum 2:1 preferably (but not essential) in a STEM subjectAt least two years’ demonstrable experience in technical writing for a software, technology or scientific organisationTechnical literacy and fluency with MS OfficeExcellent written capabilities and attention to detail, and an excellent grasp of written EnglishAbility to explain complex concepts in a concise and simple mannerOrganised with excellent time management skills, and ability to prioritise work effectively with multiple stakeholdersProven ability to work in an innovative fast-paced environment, with a ‘yes we can’ attitude
