Job Summary:

Leidos QTC Health Services is hiring a Director of User Experience Design . We have started a significant modernization effort in the way it builds software by moving away from old, monolithic applications towards microservices, automation, cloud, and user-centered design. In this role, you will help Leidos QTC Health Services on its transformation journey by leading a team of skilled designers, working closely with business and IT, understanding the enterprise landscape and current user challenges, designing innovative solutions that focus on usability and efficiency, and working with delivery teams to ensure proper implementation. You will also serve as a UX change agent, coach, mentor and facilitator within the company.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Lead, develop, coach, and manage a team of UX designers in creating thrilling experiences for our applicationsEnsure timely delivery of high quality designs across multiple projects, providing supervision and guidance while empowering team members and load-balancing their workWork closely with cross-functional counterparts to ensure that our applications meet the needs of our users and customers while ensuring usability, accessibility, and aesthetic appealEstablish Leidos QTC Health Services' Design System and define design principles, processes, patterns, and strategiesLead user research, design workshops, and usability testing, and gather feedback to inform design decisions while iterating designs based on user insights and data-driven analysisImplement measurement strategies to track the impact and success of work done by the UX teamDevelop, review and approve wireframes, interactive prototypes, and high-fidelity visual designs to effectively represent design concepts and interactionsCreate and deliver executive level presentations and communicate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiencesProvide thought leadership in the areas of user experience and modern UI designCollaborate with development teams to ensure accurate implementation of design elements, while considering technical constraints and system limitationsStay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, emerging technologies, and major vendors in the field of experience design and proactively apply them to improve our design processPerform other duties and responsibilities as assignedCompetencies:

Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and application experience developmentExperience across all facets of design and user experience, spanning UX strategy, user research, usability testing, data analysis, wire-framing, prototyping, high-fidelity UI and interaction design, and user adoptionStrong portfolio showcasing your design expertise, including examples of data-centric, web applications that meet responsive design and accessibility standardsProficiency in design and prototyping tools such as Adobe, Figma, or similarExperience working in an agile software development environmentKnowledge of front-end development technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and their impact on design decisionsHigh attention to detail and strong analytical, organizational, and task management skillsStrong leadership skills to include personnel management, collaboration, communication and presentation, ability to influence others, strategic thinking, and accountabilityEducation and/or Experience :

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science or a related discipline14+ years of progressive professional experience in user experience design3 to 5 years of experience leading and managing UX teamsExperience in the healthcare industry is a plusMust be able to successfully pass National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) background investigation

Pay and Benefits:

Salary range - $170,000 - $200,000 w/ up to 15% bonus eligibility

The Leidos QTC Health Services pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
