CareerWise is a nationally-recognized nonprofit organization that creates life-changing opportunities for the youngest generation of America’s workforce. We build industry-led, student-centered, modern youth apprenticeships through classroom and on-the-job learning providing flexible, alternative pathways to economic mobility. We have hundreds of CareerWise apprentices in the workplace, charting new paths to academic and career success. In addition, workforce and education leaders from across the country have visited CareerWise to learn about our youth apprenticeship model. As a result, our programs have launched in multiple states, leveraging our institutional knowledge, technology, and infrastructure.

Job Summary

Reporting to the Director of Marketing and Communications, the

Senior Marketing Manager

plays a crucial role in marketing planning and execution across CareerWise (CW) Flagships (in Colorado and New York City), affiliates, and our national product team. This role is responsible for developing and executing the Go-To-Market (GTM) strategy.

What You’ll Be Doing:

GTM & STRATEGY |

You will help advance the CW brand across multiple channels (digital, experiential, email, social, etc). In partnership with the Director, you translate messaging and campaigns nationwide and to targeted audiences. You build annual and quarterly plans that support recruiting new partners/students through youth apprenticeship events, training, and programming. You work closely with the CW product team in developing and executing the GTM strategy and plan.

COMMUNICATOR & COLLABORATOR |

You will quickly build rapport with stakeholders by establishing and communicating KPI’s that align with product, program, and market-specific teams. You will translate national positioning, messaging and campaigns to targeted audiences. You will also manage projects and vendors and will be a thought partner on marketing campaigns. You are considered a primary point of contact in marketing for CW’s key partners and you help onboard new partners.

CREATION & CONTENT DEVELOPMENT |

You will lead marketing programs from start to finish (including marketing and recruitment campaigns). Using market-specific content calendars, you will manage and coordinate updates across channels including partner websites, blogs, newsletters, etc. You seek to understand local market KPIs and use insights to inform brand evolution, strategy, key messages and network services provided by CW.

TEAM LEADER |

You will manage and evaluate a team of marketing managers and associates. You offer team support throughout the copywriting, designing, and production process of creating customized, branded marketing materials. You model collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. You have a natural curiosity and energy that motivates your team to join you in helping increase partner/student participation in the youth apprenticeship movement.

May perform other duties as assigned.

Key competencies to be successful in this role:

You have managed and supported budget planning and resource allocation while remaining within (or below) an established marketing budget.

You have experience in a leadership role where you have coordinated multi-stakeholder and/or multi-market projects.

You have experience as a people manager and team coach where you have mentored and led teammates, helped them gain new professional competencies, and/or accomplish meaningful goals.

Builds customer loyalty and stakeholder support using relational and emotional intelligence.

Demonstrates a commitment to the principles of DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion).

Lives out the CareerWise values and has a passion for the CareerWise mission and vision.

Additional proficiencies:

You have a minimum of 2 years of GTM experience (ideally in a startup or a nonprofit organization); you are proficient in content marketing and social media marketing.

You have knowledge of marketing principles and best practices.

You are hyper-organized and can comfortably adapt to change and/or ambiguity.

You are a self-starter and you can channel your creativity to devise marketing strategies that engage, educate, and inspire action.

Experience using a CRM and databases (

preferably

Salesforce).

Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and project management software (like Monday.com).

Ability to understand and interpret the multiple complexities of the evolving youth apprenticeship movement.

Location:

This role is a remote position, but if you are in Denver or New York City where our flagships are located that’s a bonus. There may be occasions (possibly 1-3 times per year) for staff to gather together in person. Exceptions will be made for special circumstances.

Compensation:

The starting salary range for this role is: $74,263 (min) - $95,481 (max) annually; this role is not covered by the minimum wage and overtime provisions of the FLSA. CareerWise offers a generous benefits package including group medical, dental, and vision plans, short-term disability, 100% vested 401k plan with a 3% employer contribution, and flexible time off.
