Job Summary The Urban Health Collaborative (UHC) is a multi-disciplinary research center at Drexel University's Dornsife School of Public Health with a focus on improving health in cities. We are seeking a temporary Communications Specialist to support communications on several ongoing projects. The temporary Communications Specialist will plan and execute the monthly newsletter, develop website content, design and develop research briefs, manage the UHC's social media presence, and complete other duties to support the UHC's communications goals as needed. Essential Functions Content Creation and Management: Draft press releases, website content, blog posts, briefs, and e-newsletters highlighting UHC's research, training, and community engagement initiatives. Update the UHC website, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and user-friendliness. Support website refresh. Maintain a consistent brand voice across all communication channels. Develop promotional materials for both online and in-person events, including flyers and social media content. Draft/design reports, briefs and other UHC dissemination materials Ensure adherence to Drexel's brand standards and policies governing communications. Social Media Management: Develop and execute a social media strategy to engage audiences and promote UHC's work, working to grow following and connect with strategic partners. Create and schedule engaging social media content across various platforms (e.g., Twitter, Facebook, Instagram), to disseminate research findings and complex data. Monitor and analyze social media engagement metrics, adjusting content strategy as needed. Strategic Communication and Collaboration: Support the development and implementation of a communications strategy for the UHC in line with strategic plan. Partner with UHC faculty, staff, and students to develop and support the implementation of communication strategies or marketing strategies for specific projects and initiatives. Assist with the creation of presentations and marketing materials that effectively communicate UHC's impact. Other Duties: Stay informed about relevant public health issues and their impact on urban communities. Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall communication goals of the UHC. Required Qualifications A bachelor's degree is required. Three or more years of communications experience. Preferred Qualifications Degree in communications preferred. Location University City - Philadelphia, PA Additional Information This is a part-time, per diem position classified as exempt/non-exempt. The pay offered is based on the successful candidate's qualifications and experience, department budget, and an internal equity review.
