GRAPHIC DESIGN INTERN | JOB DESCRIPTION

SUMMARY

At Magnolia, internships serve as opportunities for students and new professionals to gain experience in various fields by contributing their skills and expertise toward achieving organizational goals. Interns will be assigned to one department for the duration of the semester, and specific projects or tasks will be determined per departmental need. Interns work from various Magnolia locations in Waco, Texas. The Graphic Design Intern reports to the Senior Graphic Designer, Brand Experience and has no supervisory responsibilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Design digital and print material and prepare files for delivery while adhering to brand guidelinesCurate photography needed for blogsRetouch and manipulate images for Magnolia designs for digital marketing and printImplement direction from design lead in developing design conceptsParticipate in departmental meetings and staff development opportunitiesComplete additional departmental projects or tasks as instructed by internship supervisorParticipate in internship group development and service opportunities throughout semesterCollaborate with team members and key stakeholders to determine the priority and process of assignmentsEnsure that projects are on track for correct execution within required deadlinesHold all sensitive information with the strictest confidenceCommunicate effectively across multiple teams to ensure a cohesive goal is achievablePerform other duties as assignedCOMPETENCIES

Must be a college junior or senior, graduate student, or recent graduate (up to two years post grad)Must be available to work 15-25 hours weekly for the duration of the internship programPHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands and arms to reach, handle, feel; utilize fine motor dexterity of fingers; talk or hear and taste or smell. WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
