Job Vacancy Announcement Position Information Position Title Coordinator, Social Media Position Type Staff Department Communications FLSA Non-Exempt Union/Non Union Union Full Time or Part Time Full Time Grade 12 Salary Range Hiring Salary Range $56,316 - $61,948 / Annually Fixed Term/Tenure Track (Faculty Only) Regular or Temporary Regular Job Description Summary Responsible for growing, developing, managing, and implementing social media strategies and tactics in alignment with the College's strategic goals. Support digital and traditional marketing efforts, content creation, and crisis communications. Minimum Qualifications EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree in digital media or a communications-related discipline required. Two years of experience in social media campaigns, writing content for a variety of platforms and managing editorial calendars. Please ensure that your documents address the criteria listed below for this position. ESSENTIAL DUTIES Develop, implement, and manage the College's social media strategy and tactics. Create and maintain an editorial calendar for social media and digital content based on best practice and trend research, College community needs and feedback, and department initiatives. Write copy for digital platforms, including social media, the web, and the College's e-newsletter. Collaborate with other College departments to ensure brand consistency and messaging on social media platforms. Broad oversight of student clubs and organizations regarding branding and training. Manage social media policies, governance, and training for department accounts. Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance and provide additional guidance. Establish key performance indicators and set growth targets. Manage and distribute monthly social media analytical reports. Proactively recommend and test changes to keep platforms current, relevant, and competitive among other community colleges and local four-year institutions. Develop and manage a student ambassador/team program. Regularly engage students for feedback and content. Stay informed of social media developments, platform updates, placement opportunities, potential partnerships, collaborations, etc. Monitor social media platforms daily and review sites weekly. Proactively identify and alert Communications Manager of potential reputational risks. Respond to comments, questions, or complaints on a consistent basis. In collaboration with PGCC-TV, coordinate photography for College events and programs to use in social media and digital media content. In partnership with department managers, support annual College-wide campaigns for enrollment, retention, and other initiatives. Work with the assistant director for public relations to enhance audience awareness in the media and community, including connecting with media outlets via social media and the web. Support the College's emergency communications efforts. Performs other related duties as assigned. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Experience developing, implementing, and managing social media strategies and tactics to support an institution's strategic plan. Thorough knowledge and experience in using a variety of social media platforms, including but limited to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, etc. Experience in conducting interviews, research, and gathering information to develop social media and digital content. Knowledge of research and analytical tools to review, measure, and evaluate social media campaigns. Knowledge of using a content management system to create and update information on a college website. Familiar with AP Style. Excellent writer. Experience writing copy for a variety of platforms, including but not limited to social media, the web, and other digital mediums. Knowledge of current marketing concepts, methods, procedures, and techniques. Ability to develop and implement effective marketing programs for the College, communicate effectively verbally and in writing, and establish and maintain strong working relationships across the College. Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, website content management systems, Google analytics, and social analytics software. Job Requirements PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Must have the use of sensory skills in order to effectively communicate and interact with other employees and the public through the use of the telephone and personal contact as normally defined by the ability to see, read, talk, hear, handle, or feel objects and controls. Physical capability to effectively use and operate various items of office-related equipment, such as but not limited to a personal computer, calculator, copier, and fax machine. No significant climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, or repetitive motions. OTHER REQUIREMENTS Ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written standard English.
