Posting SummaryRutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking an Edit/Media Specialist for the The School of Social Work (SSW).
Among the key duties of the position are the following:
Supports its communications and marketing efforts.Provides innovative and creative solutions to bolster its communications and marketing plans.Handles website development and maintenance, digital and print content creation and management, graphic design, and other projects for the school and serve as project manager for such efforts.Works collaboratively with the SSW communications team, development office, senior leadership, and other faculty and staff to support program and School-level activities and ensure projects align with relevant strategic plans and initiatives.Develops and maintains all SSW websites ensuring that design, imagery, information architecture, and content successfully deliver the school's brand message, meet University creative services identity standards, and reflect industry standards and best practices.Utilizes established SSW and University tools and brand elements to create, organize, and disseminate visual multimedia content for all media platforms, including print and digital channels. Projects include, but are not limited to, creating, and editing the following: photos, videos, flyers, brochures, magazines, invitations, advertisements, emails, social media content, podcasts, communications templates, and infographics for events, courses, and other programs.Provides event and conference support by planning, organizing, and staffing select events and conferences, serving as a representative.Manages SSW promotional item processes (ordering, inventorying, distributing) as well as market research to evaluate current offerings and provide recommendations.Performs other duties as assigned, including assisting with writing projects, managing social media platforms used by the SSW and helping expand audiences with an eye towards growing community engagement.

QualificationsMinimum Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.Two (2) years of demonstrated professional experience in marketing and communications, public relations, website content management, multimedia production, digital content creation, and/or creative writing.
Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Prior experience using Drupal or similar website content management system.Knowledge of graphic design, video/audio production, website tools, and related software such as Canva, iMovie, Final Cut, and Adobe suite.Strong creativity and marketing skills and ability to generate multiple and varied ideas.Excellent organizational, time management, and verbal and written communication skills.Keen eye for detail and ability to produce high-quality content.Ability to manage many moving parts and details at once, including managing the timeline, production, vendor interactions, and full lifecycle of projects.Ability to work with a team and independently; ability to be self-motivated.Ability to report work orally or in writing to supervisor as required.Skills in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Office 365.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience managing website redesign projects, including mapping content/structure and retooling content for new web environment.Familiarity with e-mail marketing tools such as Mailchimp and Marketo.Experience producing podcasts.
Equipment Utilized
Drupal content management system.WordPress.Canva, Piktochart, and/or other web-based design tools.Adobe suite, including some basic video and audio editing.Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word and Office 365.Mailchimp and Marketo e-mail marketing platforms.Social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube) and Hootsuite.
