Clackamas Community College Federal Work Study provides part-time jobs for current students with financial need, allowing them to earn money to help pay education expenses for the 2024-2025 academic year. The program encourages community service work and work related to the student's course of study. Students may work up to 19.5 hours per week while classes are in session and receive a monthly paycheck (based on an hourly wage) that they can use for educational expenses.

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION SUMMARY:

The Federal Work-Study program at Clackamas Community College (April 2024 - March 2025) is a federal financial aid program that provides CCC students with part-time, temporary employment to offset college expenses.

JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY:

Lab Assistant - This position will assist the Digital Media Communications (DMC) or Art Studio/Lab spaces. This position will keep regular hours that are flexible.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Organize and clean classrooms/labs. Assist instructors with room set-up, maintenance and organization. May provide assistance to other department personnel as workload and staffing levels dictate. Maintain work areas in a clean and orderly manner.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

* Must be awarded work-study funds.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

* Some experience with art or digital media communications is helpful but not required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS OF POSITION:

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, bend, kneel, stoop, communicate, reach, and manipulate objects. The position requires mobility including the ability to move materials weighing up to 5 pounds on a regular basis such as files, books, office equipment, etc. and may infrequently require moving materials weighing up to 25 pounds. Manual dexterity and coordination are required more than 50% of the work period while operating equipment such as computers and other standard office equipment.

Work environment includes classroom, lab, or other setting as appropriate.

Supervision of other personnel is not a typical function assigned to this position.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED:

Works under the general direction of the Department Chair.
