The Controller's Office seeks a Digital Communications Specialist to support our communication, education, and engagement initiatives, including the development and management of our websites and electronic newsletters. This role reports to the Director, Communications and Training and collaborates with various stakeholders to deliver concise, engaging, and user-centric content that aligns with UCSF's established communication standards and frameworks.


Key Responsibilities:
  1. Web Management: Serve as the web administrator for the department's websites. Work closely with Information Technology Services (ITS) Web Services and other University partners to ensure sites are technically accurate and comply with established standards and frameworks.
  2. Content Development: Lead the development, design, and timely maintenance of strategic, high-quality content that reflects our active services and initiatives. Research, write, edit, and design accurate and compelling content.
  3. Project Collaboration: Consult with subject matter experts (SMEs), project managers, and our communications and training team to deliver digital communication projects. Recommend, develop and deliver web content, information architectures, and user-centered designs for moderately complex assignments.
  4. Publication Coordination: Facilitate the electronic news publication cycle, including initiating content calls, editing articles, coordinating reviews, and preparing communication formats for distribution.
  5. The ideal candidate will demonstrate outstanding verbal and written communication skills, strong initiative, and the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects with overlapping deadlines.

The UCSF Controller's organization delivers full accounting services and related systems for faculty, staff, and students, the UCSF Foundation, all University departments, and any outside entities who have a business relationship with the University. Services provided include General Ledger, Capital and Cash Accounting, Payroll, Student Loan Billing and Collections, Sponsored Research Accounting. The office uses sophisticated technology to account for and report on UCSF's financial activity.

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.

The salary range for this position is $75,700 - $135,600 (Annual Rate).
