Job Summary

Reporting to the Director of Communications, the Digital and Social Media Specialist is responsible for managing, updating and reporting on websites and social media accounts for Student Academic Affairs and the Graduate Division. The specialist also produces photography and designs that align with branding, and managing communications and marketing projects. The specialist is responsible for the conception, design, production and management of printed and electronic materials. The specialist will write and edit various communications and will provide support at SAA-GD events. They must be able to work effectively with various stakeholders to develop project plans and work under tight deadlines to independently complete assignments.

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. Department Description

Student Academic Affairs and the Graduate Division (SAA-GD) at UCSF collaborates, serves, and advocates for the holistic success of students and postdoctoral scholars. The Graduate Division serves as the institutional home for graduate education and postdoctoral scholarship at UCSF, serves as the primary advocate for graduate students and postdocs, and strives to promote excellence in all graduate and postdoc training programs. Student Academic Affairs units collaborate to provide academic, personal, and professional development resources ranging from financial aid to counseling, and from classroom learning resources to career planning. SAA also encourages student and scholar involvement by supporting student government and campus clubs and organizations. The communications team is a central group that provides strategy, direction and support to all SAA-GD units.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / trainingMinimum of 3 years of related experience2-3 years demonstrated experience designing and managing Drupal sites (including HTML and CSS)Req2-3 years of demonstrated experience using the Adobe Creative SuiteThorough knowledge of the fundamentals of design and user experience, including skill to design in an appealing, lively and relevant wayThorough knowledge of content management systems and / or relevant web applications used for web production and organization-specific computer application programsThorough skills to create clear, easy-to-navigate, informative, accurate, well-designed, and functional web sites that provide web content consistent with the organization's message and in keeping with management directives and client objectivesThorough technical skills in computer applications for web production, image handling, publishing and design, illustration, presentation preparation, animation, web interaction, photography and videography.Able to prioritize and balance multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
