We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented
Military Strategic Communications Specialist
to join our team. In this role, you will support the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Force Education and Training (OUSD FE&T) by assisting in the development and execution of strategic communications initiatives related to military education policies and training programs. You will also help ensure that key messages are clear, consistent, and effectively reach internal and external audiences.
This position will be located onsite at the Pentagon.Responsibilities:
Review or assist in reviewing briefings, reports, and correspondence to ensure proper format, grammar, punctuation, and alignment with the voice and tone of senior leadershipMaintain and update the FE&T SharePoint Strategic Engagement Calendar to track key events, meetings, and milestones, ensuring accuracy and accessibilityHelp populate weekly priority slides and strategic calendars for leadership, ensuring all relevant updates are capturedUpdate and manage SharePoint documents, including guidance materials, rosters, and standard operating procedures (SOPs), ensuring information is current and easy to accessSupport the development of talking points, speeches, articles, and spotlights for senior leadership in coordination with subject matter expertsDraft or assist in drafting external communications and media engagement materials for various forums and functionsCoordinate with leadership and subject matter experts to prepare for key speaking engagements, interviews, and public eventsMaintain confidentiality and discretion in all communications, especially when handling sensitive military education policies and initiativesQualifications:Active Secret Clearance is required, Top Secret (TS) or above is preferredBachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field5 years or more of experience in communications, public relations, or related fields, with experience supporting government or military initiatives preferredStrong writing and editing skills with an eye for detail, ensuring accuracy, tone, and consistencyProficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with SharePointBasic understanding of military structures and protocolsAbility to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple tasks and deadlinesPreferred Qualifications:Familiarity with military education and training policies is preferredExperience supporting executive-level leadership in a military or government settingKnowledge of strategic communications best practices, including public relations and brandingCATHEXIS offers competitive compensation packages to all eligible employees. The annual salary range for this role is $100,000 - $140,000. Please note that the salary information provided is a general guideline.
