Job Summary
Under minimal supervision, responsible for developing and managing internal communications and writing including the weekly internal newsletter, the intranet site called The Pulse and internal communication projects. This position will also initially manage community engagement events by coordinating employee volunteers. Works closely with the Internal Communications Manager to improve internal communications throughout the health care delivery system. Participates in the planning and development of new communication vehicles. Provides support and backup to the Internal Communication Manager.
Essential Functions :
Assists in developing internal communication strategies and creating communication plans to meet specified objectives for the organization. (20%)
Executes the weekly employee newsletter by writing and coordinating story content and interviewing subject matter experts, creates editorial calendar and tracks measurement to drive success of stated goals. (40%)
Oversees content coordination and placement on intranet, including creating and posting basic graphics. (20%)
Coordinates community engagement events including volunteer coordination and event management which will require schedule flexibility to support weekend event set up and wrap up. (20%)
Education :
Bachelor's Degree required
Work Experience :
4-6 years proven internal communications experience required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :
Experience in implementing internal communications strategy and objectives;
Experience working with the content management systems
Proven writing, editing, proofreading skills, ability to present concepts verbally;
Basic knowledge of graphic design.
Ability to think creatively and innovatively.
Service-oriented working style, excellent organizational abilities, and strong interpersonal skills are required.
Self-starter who works with limited supervision and guidance.
Knowledge of AP Style
