Responsibilities You will serve as a technical expert in the area of Land Mobile Radio (LMR) Communications and provide guidance on all non-tactical radio solutions, services, and purchases. You will manage the regional wireless communications services i.e., (but not limited to) cell phones, smartphones, air cards, hotspots, Satellite, Microwave, and field deployable units. You will identify and define technical requirements applied to the design, development, implementation, management, and support of LMR equipment. You will provide advice on the design, development and integration of LMR equipment consistent with existing or planned infrastructures, service, and security requirements. You will perform technical support and labor for LMR equipment in terms of programing, codeplug development, encryption, calibration, diagnostic, and field repair. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1.Evaluating, analyzing, developing, managing, or improving communications systems, procedures, and requirements that demonstrates knowledge of current developments and trends in communications concepts and technology; 2. Performing a variety of functions related to the establishment and management of Land Mobile Radio communications, fixed and wireless communication services, and IT services; 3. Demonstrating in-depth knowledge of Emergency and Mobile communications systems and communicating with and advising on the development, design, and implementation of communications equipment. Education Additional Information This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. Several vacancies may be filled.
