Senior Mechanical Design Manager - Food & Beverage ManufacturingThis role is as much about providing incredible leadership as it is the technicalities behind Machinery Design.My client are already looking at progression opportunities for this role into Director in the next 2-4 years so ambition and hunger are a must!You'll be leading a team that's all about designing custom manufacturing equipment for the Food and Beverage Industry. This isn't your run-of-the-mill role-you'll be at the forefront, shaping the future of manufacturing equipment. Your team will create and manage 3D models in SolidWorks, working closely with manufacturing teams to ensure designs are not just great on paper but can be efficiently produced.Here's what you'll be doing:Lead and Oversee:
Manage the creation of detailed 3D models for machinery, equipment, and structures, ensuring every aspect-from mounting to piping-is spot on.Design with Purpose:
Every design needs to consider safety, ease of installation, and all necessary standards (think ASME, NFPA, OSHA).Mentor and Guide:
Provide technical guidance to your team, ensuring the designs are top-notch and the team is always growing.Collaborate and Communicate:
Work with Senior Leadership and cross-functional teams across different divisions and time zones.Problem Solver:
Identify and mitigate risks before they become issues. Your expertise in metal fabrication, material handling, and grain systems will be crucial.Drive Improvement:
Implement industry best practices, stay ahead of trends, and lead the charge in continuous improvement initiatives.You'll need:A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or similar.Mastery of 3D SolidWorks design and drafting.Extensive experience in metal fabrication, material handling, and related systems.10+ years in the food and beverage industry, with at least 5 years in a leadership role, some flex.A sharp mind for problem-solving and an eye for detail.Willingness to travel internationally and the ability to work onsite in Naperville, IL.If you're ready to take the lead, shape a team, and create something extraordinary in the food and beverage industry, this is the role for you.
