Job Summary: The Assistant Director of the Marketing Leadership Institute (MLI) plays a critical role in managing the day-to-day operations of the Institute's programs, services, and initiatives. This position is responsible for ensuring the successful execution of marketing-related educational events, alumni engagement activities, and applied learning experiences aimed at fostering student success in marketing careers. The Assistant Director works closely with university departments, external agencies, students, and alumni to respond to inquiries and create valuable opportunities for students.

Under broad administrative direction, the Assistant Director manages policies, procedures, and logistical operations to align with the Institute's mission. The role involves overseeing marketing communications, developing educational programs, coordinating career treks, and ensuring a welcoming, inclusive work environment that supports diversity and equity. This position requires a strategic thinker who can lead with agility and innovation to meet the evolving needs of students and stakeholders within the marketing industry.Responsibilities: Oversees the daily management of programs, services, activities, facilities, policies and/or processes in order to support student success in various areas of student affairs. Works under broad, administrative direction with significant responsibility for assigned area(s) of responsibility. Responds to inquiries from University departments, educational institutions, the community, and/or external agencies. Strives to create a welcoming, equitable, and inclusive work environment.20% Plans, organizes, administers, and manages processes and operations related to assigned area(s) of responsibility10% Monitors, evaluates, and modifies processes, procedures, and/or standards, ensuring alignment with the Institution's mission, values, goals, and objectives, as well as all local, state, and federal laws and regulations.5% Advises and enforces Institution policies related to services in Student Affairs5% Serves as the program or unit liaison to internal and external stakeholder groups15% Schedules logistics and secures resources to support the operational plans of the program or unit10% May monitor the program budget and approve expenditures15% May exercise supervisory authority, including hiring, transferring, suspending, promoting, managing conduct and performance, discharging, assigning, rewarding, disciplining, and/or approving hours worked of at least 2.0 FTE or equivalent employees10% Marketing: Manages periodic newsletters, ensuring consistent communication with stakeholders5% Event Execution: Organizes and oversees marketing-related events such as workshops, speaker sessions, and career treks, managing all logistical aspects to ensure smooth execution5% Educational Program Development: Assists in developing curricula for learning events and classes. Collaborates with faculty and alumni to create educational activities that enhance student learning experiencesEducation: Required: Bachelor's DegreeQualifications: Required:- 2 years of experience in an academic or business setting.
Preferred:- Experience working with business professionals, companies, or foundations.- Excellent oral and written communication skills.- Experience in one or more of the following areas is desirable: student services, event management, project management, marketing, communications, budget/financial management, database management and/or record keeping.Work Type: Full Time: 100%
This position may require some work to be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location. Some work may be performed remotely, at an offsite, non-campus work location.Appointment Type, Duration: Ongoing/RenewableSalary:
Minimum
