All potential candidates should read through the following details of this job with care before making an application.The role at a glance:This is an excellent opportunity to join NBBJ Seattle as a Senior Interior Designer in our Corporate / Commercial / Life Science Interiors Practice. As a Senior Interior Designer, you will use your conceptual abilities to lead teams, combining design, craft, and client acumen to foster NBBJ’s design culture. As lead designer, you will work collaboratively with teams, delivering diverse projects to exceed our client’s expectations. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and teamwork skills, a beautiful portfolio of creative designs (with an emphasis on workplace projects) and the motivation to engage with the array of NBBJ’s resources in achieving high-performance, sustainable outcomes.

In your new role, you will:

Lead interior design in pursuit of design excellence

Provide mentoring and guidance to team members

Lead clients through the design process, uncovering requirements and supporting the growth of their businesses and culture

Develop and implement overall design concepts and finish palettes through all phases of design

Lead client facing design presentations

What you will need to succeed:

10-15 years of professional experience in Interior Design

Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture with a strong portfolio of realized interior projects

Experience with large, complex commercial or corporate projects; life science is a plus

LEED or WELL Accreditation or within 18 months of hire

Excellent leadership, verbal and communication skills, and effective client relationship skills and talent for leading and working with diverse teams of designers

Highly creative conceptual design and schematic design skills

Strong graphic communication skills

Demonstrated knowledge of Revit, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign

Deep understanding of selection and specification of materials and finishes

Experienced in furniture selection and specification

Desire to help drive innovative design solutions

Proven ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously

Demonstrated ability to lead multiple projects with competing deadlines

Ability to work in a collaborative, design focused open environment

Ability to travel as the project(s) requires

The annual base pay range for this role is anticipated to be between $90,000 and $125,000. Actual compensation for successful candidates will be carefully determined based on a number of factors, including their skills, qualifications and experience.
