We are looking for an Assistant Editor.
Please note: this role is for a 6-month contract and reports on-site to our client's office in Santa Monica, CA.
This contract role supports a Global Studio Services team that produces, films and edits videoprojects with multiple internal teams including: Content & Partnerships, Marketing,
Engineering, Product, Communications, DEI, and AR. If you're kind, smart, creative, love technologyand want to make an impact in entertainment and tech, this job could be for you.
Job Responsibilities:Safely ingest, backup, organize and transcode media using Adobe Creative Cloud applications, checksum softwares and DaVinci Resolve Output dailies, stringouts, selects and radio cutsCompile and organize sfx, B-roll and other necessary assets for post production projects Output turnover materials for color and sound (EDLs, XMLs, AAF's, etc)Export and deliver version cuts to Frame.ioClean up and project manage final sequences, and output archival deliverables (high res. texted renders, high res. textless renders, audio stems, and other master file deliverables)Collaborate closely with a creative team to build engaging visual storiesAssist in the conceptual development of original contentCommunicate your artistic vision for crafting contentHelp create animation and motion graphicsCommunicate with post production team, producers and designers to ensure successful editsTake creative notes and apply them to recut editsTroubleshoot inefficiencies and collaborate on post production optimizationsStay current with the latest trends, techniques and tools related to post productionManage video files and asset library to deliver video files transfers as neededEdit one episode for an Internal News seriesEdit various short form narrative structures: live action, news, reality, comedy, B-roll, sizzle reels, etc.Qualifications and Experience:
Role is fulltime onsite in Santa Monica for the duration of the contractIn depth experience with Adobe Creative Cloud programs with an emphasis on Premiere ProFamiliarity with all aspects of video production, pre-production, and post-productionPrevious work and experience with a production company, studio or film/TV projectsConfident with Mac OS and iOSEffective interpersonal and team collaboration skillsEffective verbal and written communication skills3+ years experience in post-production editingOpen to creative feedbackUnderstands different video formats and codecsA good understanding of audio, lighting, color correction, motion graphics and keying footageStrong verbal and written communication skillsPreferred Qualifications:
Able to create simple animations and motion graphics using After EffectsExcels at Google Suite applications (Drive, Sheets, Slides, Docs, etc.)Experience working in a studio environment is a plusFluent with Snapchat and an avid SnapchatterA good knowledge of cameras and microphones
Compensation & Benefits:
The compensation range for this position is $64,000-$74,000 (annual salary). This role is a 6-month contract that may extend.
