Position Description
The Mechanical Designer will develop detailed 3D CAD models of mechanical component parts including sub-assemblies and complete assemblies to support the PPI compressor product line. Creating detailed fabrication/assembly drawings along with performing engineering changes on existing drawings. The Mechanical Designer will be supporting multiple projects concurrently in a fast-paced environment.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
Develop detailed 3D CAD models of component parts and building standard configurable (expression and template based) assemblies based on customer requirements and internal standards
Develop detailed designs of mechanical components used in the assembly and operation of our reciprocating diaphragm compressor builds
Create detailed design of auxiliary systems including piping, tubing, fittings, heaters, heat exchangers, pumps, motors, instrumentation, and base plates, selecting components as required to meet customer and system pressure requirements
Create drawings for fabrication, assembly, and customer submittals
Perform engineering changes (ECs) on existing drawings
Model new vendor parts as necessary
Support multiple concurrent projects
Transfer legacy drawings from AutoCad to NX
Skills & Abilities
Required
Self-motivated and highly organized
Understanding and working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) industry standards and practices
Parametric Solid Modeling experience
Experience creating P&IDs, General Assembly drawings, and BOMs
Preferred
Siemens NX experience (SolidWorks, Inventor, Pro-E, or Catia acceptable)
AutoCad experience
Qualifications
3-5 years of experience in Mechanical Design - Associate Degree in related field preferred.
Proficient in 3D parametric solid modeling (Siemens NX, SolidWorks, Inventor, Pro-E, or Catia)
Ability to create complex system (lube oil, seal support, and electrical) assemblies
Ability to create mechanical component part drawings and assemblies
Ability to apply GD&T standards to part drawings and understand the manufacturing impact of the applied standards
Knowledge of Siemens NX software package is a plus (we will mentor the right candidate)
Knowledge of industry standard and practices (i.e. GD&T, API, ASME, NACE) is a plus
Background in skidded equipment design for natural gas or hydrogen applications preferred

Compensation Details
Annual Salary: $80,000.00 - $95,000.00
