Offering 286 total guest rooms and suites, two award-winning dining outlets (Ciclo and Live Oak), a luxury spa, and 17,121 sq. ft. (1,591 m2) of event space, we remain one of Austin's first and longest-standing luxury hotels. Guests come for our legendary service and well-appointed accommodations and then return for our exciting seasonal activations and ever-evolving food and beverage offerings.
About the role
Four Seasons Hotel Austin is seeking a Director of Marketing to join our dynamic Sales & Marketing Team. The ideal candidate will have remarkable talent and enthusiasm for sales and marketing, coupled with strategic foresight and a proven track record in both domains. As a key member of the Hotel Leadership team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping strategic and operational decisions.
What you will do
The Director of Marketing sits on the Hotel's executive leadership team and directs and oversees all sales and commercial activities with the support of teams including: Sales, Catering, Conference Services, Public Relations, Marketing Communications and Revenue Management to ensure that all activities and bookings are focused to yield maximum revenue per room occupied as well as in all of the Hotel's outlets. This individual will develop the local Hotel brand and narrative including the Hotel positioning in the market, the storytelling and subsequent programming. The Director of Marketing must be able to execute and effectively communicate strategies and tactics employed to all key stakeholders, including Ownership, the Hotel team and our Corporate Office.

What you bring
- The leader in this position is action-oriented, forward-looking, broad in scope, and requires a pro-active drive to get things done through involvement with others. It requires a strong sense of urgency, initiative and competitive drive to get things done by influencing others, delegating, developing contacts and building relationships. Strong people leadership skills required.
- Applicants must have strong revenue cultivation and budget management skills, strategic vision and the ability to communicate effectively with Ownership.
- Applicants are required to have 3 - 5 years of previous experience as a Director of Marketing or similar, with a proven track record in both sales and marketing.
- Applicants must have a 4-year university or college degree or equivalent experience.
- Systems experience preferred with Golden Sales & Catering, Ideas, BI RevFinder, Publicis, and Opera.
- Ability to motivate others through social poise, warmth and friendliness.
- Applicants need to evidence strong revenue and budget management skills, have a creative flair for marketing, have good communication and interpersonal skills and demonstrate effective leadership.
- Ability to design, develop and deliver effective presentations required.
- Applicant must be available to travel as needed.
- Work authorization in the United States required.
