The primary role of this position is to support the Corporate Communications function through internal/employee communications, management of the Hershey Jobs brand (PR/social media), storytelling and collaboration across the entire organization. This role will actively draft and distribute internal messages, identify employee & departmental spotlight opportunities, confirm and manage outreach channels, create employee-facing communications templates for properties, work with the human resources and training & development departments on select communications needs including editing, writing and distribution, create and manage on-property content board communication, and contribute to the company's Story Hub/blog (stories.hersheypa.com). This role will write or edit communications materials, including diversity, equity and inclusion efforts, and manage the organization's Corporate Calendar. Job Duties (Duties marked with an asterisk are essential functions of this job):
Develop internal/employee communications materials, including company-wide emails, flyers, video content, including scripts for leadership. *Write corporate press releases or announcements in conjunction with the Vice President, Communications & Corporate Relations. *Write stories for the StoryHub, including team member spotlights and company hiring efforts.*Work with general managers on property-focused communications, including templates, town hall assistance, etc. *Collaborate with Marketing to develop and post content for back-of-house communications channels to share consistent messaging across the company. *Assist with select HR-related communications including benefits information and internship programs, such as Hersheypark Leadership Development and Hospitality Internship Program. *Research communications tools for corporate communications and employee communications. *Manage the internal Corporate Calendar. *Assist with Milton Hershey School and community storytelling and promotion, as needed, by supporting the Managing Director, Corporate Engagement. *Assist in telling the story of our 25-year Legacy team members.Assist property leadership with town hall and departmental meetings plus key company events; attend meetings on behalf of the department.Assist with the company's Impact Report, including tracking key metrics such as volunteerism, recycling efforts and more.Serve as communications lead (public relations and social media) for Hershey Jobs, HE&R's recruitment and retention brand. Tactics include, but are not limited to: *Identify press outlets (using Cision and research) to build robust media lists to increase awareness about HE&R's available jobs and our corporate brand.Actively pitch stories about team members, corporate news, job fairs and more.Draft team members bios, as needed, across the company.Create engaging social media content (video, photo, reels, etc.) for Hershey Jobs Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn.Promote and attend job fairs and career events.Promote weekly 'hot jobs' employment opportunities and internship programs via social media using creative approaches such as team member takeovers and videos.Be in lockstep with the Recruitment department to ensure the team feels supported.Serve as a company spokesperson, as needed. *Attend and participate in monthly departmental team content meetings. Actively participate and ideate on story and social media ideas and tactics. *Maintain a pulse on social media trends platforms and stay updated on public relations trends and media targets.Perform other duties as assignedQualifications:
Bachelor's Degree6 Years of Experience in Public Relations/Communications, Writing/Editing, Social Media, or Spokesperson/on-air experienceMust possess a valid driver's licenseKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Skilled in using Microsoft Office and Google applications, including Excel and Word.Proficient in working with details daily for prolonged periods of time.Experienced in select applications such as social media monitoring, publishing and media relations platforms.Experienced in working with key executives and operations team members.Must be a strong writer with a strong presence among leadership.Must be a team player and willing to learn and use social media channels to reach targeted audiences.Must become an expert in Hershey, PA, including all properties, Milton Hershey School, history, etc.Positive, curious, collaborative, hardworking, flexible and enthusiastic attitude is a must.Job Demands:
