ASM Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an excellent and immediate opening for a Film Commission Coordinator at Visit El Paso, a division of Destination El Paso. The Film Commission Coordinator, under the direction of the Film & Creative Industries Commissioner, is responsible for providing film permits, location options, crisis management and crew and production services to film industry professionals. In addition, the Coordinator is responsible for implementing music programming and music development programs including but not limited to social media, music event support, database operations, and music educational programming

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Associate's degree preferred, High School diploma (or equivalent) required and at least one (1) year related secretarial/assistant experience, as well as experience in working with the public and clients or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be willing to complete AFCI Cineposium Film Fundamentals within the first year of job employment.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide comprehensive information regarding locations, permit requirements, policies, and general production information to both local and visiting filmmakers, musicians and other creative industry professionals.
- Assist Film & Creative Industries Commissioner in developing, marketing and promoting El Paso locations to attract film productions and promote and develop the music industry. Assist and coordinate site visits/location scouts, music events.
- Assist in permitting projects, based on the needs of production companies.
- Act as a liaison with production companies that require resolution to on-location problems; coordinates production company needs with appropriate public agencies, city, county, state or federal government departments and the local film crew.
- Assist on location based upon Commissioner's and production company's needs during pre-production, filming or post-production.
- Represent the department and be willing to travel to events, tradeshows and receptions such as AFCI Week, SXSW Film Festival, Viva Big Bend, etc.
- Maintain the department's social media presence.
- Maintain the El Paso Music/Film Event Calendar
- Maintain the El Paso Creative Industry Directory and keep current with local musicians, crew and Support services.
- Promote music event calendar to community and musicians.
- Contact property owners to determine possibility of shooting pictures for possible usage in film production.
- Attend meetings with the Film & Creative Industries Commissioner.
- Draft email, reports and other correspondence in a timely, accurate manner not requiring a supervisor's attention.
- Perform other duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Knowledge of Motion Picture production industry and the production process for the purpose of coordinating information and services.
- Knowledge of the music industry, recording, music rights, genres, streaming, etc.
- Knowledge of the City and County of El Paso.
- Position will periodically require the use of a company vehicle for company business. Individual must be physically capable of operating the vehicles safely and possess a valid driver's license and have an acceptable driving record.
- Maintain an effective working relationship with clients, patrons, employees, general public and others encountered in the course of employment, with the ability to keep information confidential.
- Ability to work independently.
- Working knowledge of general Film and Music office practices and procedures.
- Follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively with others in both oral and written form.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
- Remain flexible and adjust to situations as they occur.
- Organize and prioritize work and meet deadlines.
- Computer knowledge using Windows, MS Office, social media and other standard office equipment, including copier/scanner.
- Position is sometimes exposed to adverse conditions, & sometimes requires sitting for long periods of time.
- Ability to work flexible hours including daytime, evening, weekends and holidays as needed.
