From systems architecture development to system analysis and optimization, astrodynamics, orbital debris, navigation, failure analysis, mission assurance, cost and schedule assessment, and economic market analysis, SED exploits an incredibly broad array of engineering and business disciplines against a diverse and dynamic portfolio of programs and national challenges.In the Performance Modeling and Analysis Department, we are excited to solve tough problems and explore novel ideas, and we are driven to empower people to make a difference. We are looking for a Senior Communication Architecture Analyst (Senior Engineering Specialist - Modeling & Simulation Engineering) that will make use of sophisticated simulation tools in support of requirements verification, analyses-of-alternatives (AoA), and performance modeling for space-based communications architectures. This technical leader will mentor early- and mid-career staff, especially in the areas of effective engagement with customers, career development, teamwork, collaboration, analysis techniques, and data visualization.Work Model:This full-time position requires 100% onsite work in El Segundo, CA, Chantilly, VA, or Colorado Springs, CO.What You’ll Be DoingProvide analysis to support recommendations for research, development, and acquisition decisions of legacy and emerging customer space communications architectures including related ground systems and supporting technologies.Independently translate customer needs into project objectives and instructions for analysts, assemble and lead multi-disciplinary technical teams, coordinate complex technical tasks among team members, track team performance, and review team products for quality and accuracy.Develop and present timely and technically-accurate presentations and reports that clearly communicate analysis results and provide recommended solutions to technical leads, management, and customers.Aid in sustainment, development, and growth of the organization’s analysis and simulation capabilities to support new functional areas for our diverse customer base.Independently develop and strengthen relationships with senior program office managers and customer senior leadership.What You Need to be SuccessfulMinimum Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering, physics, operations research, mathematics.12 years of increasingly responsible engineering experience.Knowledge in one of these specific national security space or intelligence mission areas: geo-spatial intelligence, signals intelligence, space surveillance, space protection, ground systems, or communications infrastructure supporting defense or intelligence capabilities.Demonstrated technical leadership, personal accountability, and adaptability to changing customer expectations.Proficiency in astrodynamics or space operations.Experience with one or more software languages that may include Python, C++, or MATLAB.This position requires a current and active TS/SCI security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government.
