The Vice President for Strategic Enrollment, Marketing, and Communication (VPSEMC) is responsible for overseeing the University’s efforts to attract and retain students and to maintain the public image of the University through oversight of the University’s Enrollment, Marketing, and Communication functions. The VPSEMC reports to the President and is a member of the President’s Cabinet.Qualifications summaryThe VP of Strategic Enrollment, Marketing and Communication must be a Seventh-day Adventist in good and regular standing. The position requires the individual to have a graduate level degree and be able to show evidence of effective spiritual leadership. Other qualifications can be found in the qualifications section of the full job description.Duties and responsibilitiesAmong other duties and responsibilities, the VPSEMC is expected to perform the following functions:Oversee all recruitment operationsCollaborate with the appropriate campus academic and administrative committees and entities for implementation of admissions and retention policies of undergraduate and graduate students.Collaborate with financial administration in the policy development, delivery, and monitoring of financial aid and student financial services through recruitment, admissions, and financial service teams.Oversee a team of marketing and communication professionals who are dedicated to telling the story of Andrews University as they seek to consistently and successfully brand the University both on campus and beyond.Provide strategic marketing and communication support specifically for key administrators, for Enrollment Management and the academic departments of the University, including efforts that will ensure enrollment goals for programs, departments, schools and colleges and the University itself.Provide key marketing and communication support, as requested, by University Advancement to help the University achieve its goals related to Development, Alumni Services, and the Howard Performing Arts Center.Guide the official communication efforts of the University, including internal communication, media relations, social media, website management, and production of the University’s official journals, including FOCUS magazine and the annual research report.Supervisory responsibilitiesThis role oversees the following areas and their personnel: Undergraduate and Graduate Enrollment departments, Marketing, International Credential Office, and University Communications.QualificationsGraduate level degree required.Evidence of effective spiritual leadership required.Must have a track record of successful experience in enrollment.Must understand the dynamics of Seventh-day Adventist higher education in North America.Evidence of engagement with higher education issues.Experience in intercultural contexts, ideally with exposure to international settings.Strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills.Demonstrated visionary skills and the ability to oversee strategic planning.Effective verbal, public speaking, and written communication skills in English.Technical competenciesAble to effectively function within the traditional Microsoft Office suite.Interpersonal interactionsMust maintain positive relationships with on- and off-campus constituent groups.Physical demandsThe physical demands for this job are equivalent to traditional office environments.
