As the VP of Product Design you oversee Product Design, UX Research, and UX Writing teams. You are a member of the senior leadership team, representing the voice of Product Design at the company level. You contribute valuable design-first initiatives to the product roadmap, and foster a culture of user- and customer-centricity, with a high bar for quality. - Design leadership in a complex environment: creates and communicates a cohesive design vision in a complex environments (b2b2c + channels; regulated industry; service + hardware + software; multi-product portfolio). You will roll up your sleeves and creatively direct as necessary in order to keep our quality bar high.
- Motivate teams at scale: Builds and manages a strong layer as a leader-of-leaders and creates a strong, positive culture within the design team. Improves the effectiveness of the team over time.
- Create an engine of user and customer centric innovation: Build the systems & processes that consistently produce products/features that solve real problems and deliver and execute on company goals.
- Cross functional & Leadership Collaboration: Partner closely with the leaders of product, engineering, brand design, content, customer experience and sales to ship impactful, high quality products.
- Craft Based Leader: you are truly a Designer at heart, youll set design direction in the team with a high velocity and high bar. Demonstrate an attitude of the little things are the big things.
- Design Vision and Ideation: As a member of the RnD leadership team, you will work closely with other leaders to articulate Hinge Healths product vision and strategy through design and elevate product brand experiences.

We believe that remote work and in-person work have their own advantages and disadvantages, and we want to be able to leverage the best of both worlds. Employees in hybrid roles are required to be in the office 3 days/week.
Qualificatons:
Basic Qualifications
10+ years of Product Design leadership experience with direct reports under your guidance and leadership, including hiring and developing senior managers and individual contributors
Demonstrated experience leading high-velocity Design teams to have meaningful impact on the customer and the business
Analytical approach to Design work, incorporating qualitative and quantitative insights to inform decision making and measure outcomes
Effectiveness in working across organizational boundaries to influence and deliver results.
Bachelors, or equivalent degree, in Design, HCI, or related field or equivalent professional experience within the design field.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience successfully coaching and managing the performance of teams across Product Design, UX Writing and UX Research
Experience leveraging successful strategies for organizational planning and approaches to strengthen team capacity
High product quality bar and a strong eye for visual design
Strong background in shipping impactful products that require tight collaboration with marketing, brand, and other relevant functions
Strong experience partnering with Product Management and Engineering to meet deadlines and deliver quality products
Extensive experience leading consumer-facing Product Design design teams focused on native iOS and Android apps
Ability to create design direction and processes that balance small design iterations with larger experience changes to improve the end-to-end experience and achieve goals
A strong bias-to-action to address challenges, build and test products, and learn from failures and successes
Experience developing products in the health, wellness, or exercise space
Comprehensive knowledge of the latest design concepts, emerging technologies, and other developments in the user experience field.
Compensation
This position will have an annual salary, plus equity and benefits. Please note the annual salary range is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies, and work location. The annual salary range for this position is 360K-450K, plus equity and benefits.
