You will be editing a range of video content, including short-form videos for Reels, TikTok, and other organic social media channels, as well as long-format videos for YouTube and our website. Your work will support our 5th Element team as well as our clients, meaning you will have a direct hand in elevating brands and businesses through powerful, captivating media.In this role, you won’t just be an editor who knows what looks good—you’ll be a strategist who understands what drives metrics and conversions. Half of your editing will focus on paid advertisements, requiring a keen understanding of what prompts audiences to click, engage, and convert. Your expertise will also help us retain audiences, drawing viewers in and keeping them hooked from start to finish. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled editor who is ready to make an impact and shape the future of 5th Element Media.Key Responsibilities:Content Editing for Social Media : Produce high-quality, visually compelling videos tailored for platforms like Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube, and our website. Create both short-form and long-form content that aligns with each platform’s unique style and audience engagement patterns.Ad Video Creation & Optimization : Edit videos specifically for paid social ads, understanding what elements drive clicks, conversions, and overall engagement. Develop ads that perform across Meta, Google, and other platforms by focusing on content that encourages action.Audience Retention Strategy : Craft videos with a deep understanding of audience psychology, capturing attention early and keeping viewers engaged throughout. Use storytelling techniques, visual effects, and pacing that maximize watch time.Collaborative Editing Process : Work closely with the 5th Element team and clients to align video content with strategic goals. Participate in brainstorming sessions to generate ideas and receive feedback to refine and improve your edits.Content Adaptation for Various Platforms : Adapt content to suit different platforms and formats, ensuring that each video performs well within its designated context while remaining consistent with brand identity.Sound Design & Audio Editing : Ensure high-quality audio by incorporating sound design, adjusting levels, and enhancing clarity. Perform basic audio editing tasks to synchronize sound with visuals, ensuring videos are engaging and professional across all platforms.Data-Driven Editing : Regularly review video performance metrics to refine editing styles and formats that enhance conversions and audience retention. Use analytics to understand what resonates with audiences and continually adapt your approach.File Organization & Management : Maintain an organized workflow for managing and storing video assets. Ensure all raw and edited footage is cataloged and accessible for easy retrieval by the team.Stay Updated on Trends : Keep a finger on the pulse of video trends, social media platform updates, and best practices for ad performance. Bring fresh ideas to the table and help keep our content innovative and competitive.Qualifications:Experience in Video Editing:
2+ years of professional experience in video editing, with a strong portfolio showcasing a range of content, from short social media videos to longer, story-driven pieces.Advanced Proficiency in Editing Software:
Strong command of video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, and After Effects. Familiarity with motion graphics, color grading, and sound design is highly desirable.Understanding of Digital Marketing:
Experience with video editing for paid ads, with a clear understanding of what drives engagement, conversions, and clicks on social media and advertising platforms.Strong Technical Skills:
Skilled in video production techniques, storytelling, and maintaining quality across various video formats and platforms. Must be comfortable working with analytics to inform edits and optimize content.Creativity with Data-Driven Approach:
Ability to balance creative instincts with a strategic, data-driven approach to editing that maximizes audience engagement and retention.Excellent Communication Skills:
Ability to take feedback constructively and communicate effectively with team members and clients to ensure alignment on project goals and expectations.Detail-Oriented & Organized:
High attention to detail in managing video files, projects, and production schedules. Ability to juggle multiple projects and meet deadlines consistently.Local to Murrieta/Temecula Area:
