Enterprise Firmware Technical Marketing Engineer

The Customer Lifecycle Engineering and Quality organization has an exciting opportunity available for an Expert-level Technical Marketing Engineer, who will daily represent HP's Enterprise firmware code bases, and Solutions (software).

This role provides opportunity to get lots of hands-on experience with HP's enterprise customers, working closely with channel partners, global R&D and qualification teams, to root cause and drive resolution on critical customer issues.

Main Responsibilities

Act as a customer advocate and quality champion within GBUInteract directly with R&D development teams to root cause customer found defectsLead and manage complex field escalations, which may include direct customer/partner interactionParticipate and influence the development of future products and solutionsDevelop white papers, technical notes, support and training materialSupport early evaluation programs from a firmware and software perspectiveSection Leadership

Work closely with management to ensure optimal customer outcomesRepresent Quality and contribute to NPI initiatives or cross-functional future focused print projectsAct as an expert providing guidance on technologies and use of common methods and toolsProvide mentoring to interns and other team membersKnowledge and Skills

Strong understanding of printing system architectures, embedded systems, client/server infrastructure, networking technologies and operating systems (e.g. Windows, MAC, etc.)Strong decision-making skills, and an ability to coordinate cross-functional teamsStrong desire to work directly with customers/partners, ability to multi-task and deal with time-sensitive situationsOperational knowledge of firmware development: from defect/feature specification to releaseStrong troubleshooting skills with a focus on problem-solving resolution in complex print systemsPositive attitude and teamwork spirit, especially with remote teamsSelf-starter and proactive mindset, effective documentation skillsNetwork Competencies

Technical knowledge - network setups (es. routers/switches, certificate chains, DNS, email etc.), communication protocols (SNMP, web services, LEDM)Familiarity with Fleet Management Solutions and/or Cloud solutions, and networking debugging tools (ex. Wireshark)Ability to collaborate/consult Enterprise Information Technology teams on optimal network configurations for best HP product performanceCommon Methods and Tools

Bachelor's or master's degree in Engineering, Computer Sciences, or equivalent6-10 years' professional experience in the technical industryThe base pay range for this role is $118,050 to $181,800 annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity (applies to US candidates only). Pay varies by work location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
